Steemit's first talent competition is now open for entries!

As promised, @rhi-marie and I officially announce Steemit's first talent competition! We want to see the hidden talents within the Steemit community so we created the #steemittalentcompetition. With a first place prize of 35 STEEM, this is a chance for those of you with share-worthy talents to cash in and get some recognition. We are ultimately doing this to increase diversity and encourage new and interesting content on Steemit (and also have some fun too!).

RULES:

• Video entries only
• Footage must be new. You must verify with the date either verbally or with a sign
• Video must not be longer than 1 minute in duration. Penalties will apply for videos exceeding the limit
• Must be PG (no in appropriate content)
• Videos must be titled 'Steemit Talent Competition' and be tagged with steemittalentcompetition and talent

• Celebrity impersonations
• Magic trick
• Cups
• Pogo-sticks
• Break-dancing
• Ballroom dancing
• Sports tricks
• Billiards trick shots
• Stunts (we take no responsibility - please be careful)

JUDGING CRITERIA:

Entries will be judged on:

• Originality
• Personality
• Overall performance
• Audience response (up-votes)

Entries will be judged using a 10 point system for each criteria ie. a perfect score will be 40 points.

Notes:

5 points will be deducted for every 10 seconds the video goes over 1 minute.

Video quality is not a deciding factor, cell phone videos are acceptable.

PRIZES:
1st - 35 STEEM
2nd - 20 STEEM
3rd - 10 STEEM

WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT:
Entries close 11:59pm EST Sunday 14 August (that's one week from now). We will aim to announce the winners as soon as possible under the #steemittalentcompetition tag.

HELP US HELP YOU by up-voting this post and increasing exposure for the competition. The more people who see this post the more participation we get from the community and the more votes you will get on your video.

We also encourage viewers and participants to up-vote all of their favourite videos as it will help us as judges to make a decision and increase the overall fun of the competition!

Remember: If you don't have any share-worthy talents yourself but have friends or family that do, get them to sign up to Steemit and enter!
