Change is constant and growing up is inevitable. And I'd love to Grow my Steemit account! That's why I'm taking the challenge of Powering Up to 500 SP.
Steem Power is what gives you influence on Steemit.
The higher your SP is, the greater your upvote will be, thus more curation rewards you will earn.
You see, Powering Up is a very wise investment in Steemit.
“Powering up” is the action of moving Steem to Steem Power (SP) within your wallet.
To better understand it, please take your time and read Why You Should Power Up [Showcasing the Benefits of Steem Power] by @sndbox.
Powering Up means having a higher Steem Power, which proportionates to a higher Upvote value with higher curation reward and much longer bandwidth limit. Increased Steem Power also enables the use of a slider bar, where you can change the weight of an upvote between 1% to 100% on a post or comment.
Like everyone else here, I started from zero. And as time goes by, my self-growth and steemit-growth have given me a sense of self-worth. I was living low-key in real life, just barely go out, even enjoys the company of myself, watching movies/animes/tv series. The typical college student with average self-esteem and confidence and you hide from the sight of the world to stay away from any trouble and attachments (lol).
My current Steem Power is 207 (in which I delegated 125 SP to my brother, @asbonclz, as I know he could use it much efficiently and wisely to support Iligan Steemians), so 207-125, gives 82 SP with upvote value of 0.02$ when I upvote with 100% weight and 100% voting power. I couldn't do much but I do hope in the future I could impact other people's lives.
Today, it's not that I have gotten away from my safe-zone but compared from how I lived from before, I began socializing more, been in all three (3) @steemph.iligan meetups, found new friends, even got the chance to somehow share my knowledge with them, shared my thoughts and interests through writing blogs/articles, even shared my hidden talents (lol).
This was during our First @steemph.iligan Meet up and Orientation at Jollibee! A big thanks to our sponsors and organizers: sir @juvyjabian and @asbonclz.
Because of Steemit, I changed so much. From being the "Shy-Shai" to not really Happy-go-lucky but seemed to get along with others kind of Shaira.
Steemit has been my medium of self-expression, through my blogs, art, and music. And to give back to Steemit and to our community here, I decided to take the Power Up Challenge.
I want to help.
Financial problem is a hindrance (in achieving our dream course, consequently, our future job). The access to Higher Learning and Education is limited, no matter how much you deserve it. As a student, I know how this feels. To be honest, I actually wanted to take BS Chemical Engineering (and be a Chemical Engineer), enroll at Cebu Institute of Technology, Cebu, Philippines. However, because the amount of tuition fee costs much than what my family could afford, I wasn't able to do so. I enrolled at a State University with free tuition fee and is currently taking BS Envet (don't get me wrong, I don't regret taking BS ENVET, I grew to love the course!), because it's more practical this way, rather than taking my dream course in an expensive school and be drowned in debt.
But, Steemit has given me more than I could ask for!
I promoted Steemit and its potential to my Envet classmates. Introduced Steemit as a promising new social media platform that pays you for creating and curating articles. Just post whatever it is that interests you and earn rewards! Not to brag but rather to encourage: I have withdrawn about P20,000 ($400) from posting articles! and this money has helped me with my endeavors. From this, I have partly supported myself and saved some cash for the future, especially for our thesis study which requires a budget of about P50,000 ($1,000) for the chemicals and analyses needed specifically, heavy metals (mercury, lead and arsenic) present in a water body.
I want to help my Envet classmates earn the necessary amount needed for their thesis studies as well!
I also invited my thesis mates: @miggy148, @lazynork and @mister-ez123 in the Platform for the purpose of earning money for our thesis study and to showcase their hidden skills and talents, to sometimes go out from their comfort zone and just have fun while doing so.
I think, as of today March 22, 2018, we are about 17 BS Envet students from MSU-IIT, namely:
@angelspeaks
@barttalks
@barbiee
@leih
@patttyyy
@justquinly
@athan
@khaker
@badet
@emjecee
@mister-ez123
@aubriel
@lilacbeams
@nikkaruuth
@mr-jobean
@miggy148
@lazynork
I hope you will support them, too. They make superb blogs/articles! Please visit their accounts, read their posts and give them a little love. I promise each of them offer unique, interesting and creative posts. Thank you.
I am taking this challenge to also support and help curate their articles. I invited them to express themselves on a platform that values their worth, with a promise of earning decent rewards from the Steemit community. I cannot do so much with my current SP. I can only resteem and hope to give them the exposure they needed. But, I am looking forward to helping their accounts grow, as well.
So, today, I accept the 500 Steem Power Challenge! How to Power Up? I will be buying Steem using 50% of my sbd rewards and then use it to power up. Which basically means that I should step up my game, create and better format my posts, and POST EVERY DAY!
Hopefully, after reaching my goal, I will also Power Up until 1000 SP ~fingers crossed.
