Emptiness
Emptiness could be a cup – With no liquid within
Maybe a brother or sister – Who misses their twin
A wallet with no money – Or a pasture with no sheep
Or a chicken coop – Where you can’t hear a peep
It might be a gymnasium – With no pounding of shoes
Or a Jazz club in New Orleans – With no sound of the blues
Maybe a grade school classroom – With no children in sight
Or a congressional hearing room – With no sound of a fight
It might be the feeling – Of a love that ran dry
Or the feeling in your heart – That you’re with the wrong guy
But there is a solution – To avoid that black hole
Ask the Higher Power for help – For it touches every soul!!
