I have seen this photograph and it transmits sadness to me for what it represents. That does not mean it's a bad photograph, great shot. Good luck in the challenge.

It is better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war... But I understand what you mean. :'(

I am sorry for my bad english. I want to say that the photo transmits a message, a sad message but it is the reality of the world.

Why do people fight people? I really hate wars. Very strong photo @joerevans!

We fight for resources, we fight for ideology, we fight over who's gods are greater... We fight to renew the earth with the blood of our rivals... In this day and age of plenty (we have the resources, skills, and knowledge to feed the world) there should be no need for war, but old habits die hard.

Right? Right! Lives are lost in wars. Wars bring suffering. I don't know why they can't see it. It saddens me. A LOT.

It´s never about ideologies and religion. Its a poor pretext of fighting for ressources.
And maybe this is the biggest problem. Most of the soldiers don´t know the real reasons why they were fighting. Some call it brave - others call it stupid....

Yes. But people from ancient times are denser than today's. At least, today's soldiers are paid. It's their job. Before, just 'cause the king told them to fight, they will. (Though, sometimes they can be killed if they don't.)But I salute them all equally. Once a soldier, always a soldier.
