I don't even know where to begin. Well, how about this, the entire world would be better off and the human race in general would be happier if people would get this one through their heads:
Quit worrying about how much money everyone else in the world (including Steemit) is making. Focus on what YOU are making. You can't control their income, but you can impact your own income.
Your fourth point about Steemit activities impacting your outside-Steemit life is relevant for me since one of my goals was to get more visibility for my Etsy shop, and web traffic to it has been considerably higher since I started posting about my projects here.
I never thought about self voting being the same idea as investing your own $ in retirement. That was like a lightbulb moment.
Thank you for a very educational and entertaining rant. I hate that entitled, "the world owes me because I'm so amazing and rich people are supposed to just give to me instead of me having to work hard" attitude as well.
There are some people that I knew would enjoy it. Of course, you were one of them. lol Btw, we are planning to spend a month in the U.S. in October/November and will be driving through Wheeling at some point. Far from you?
Yes, opposite side of the state! But it's the Husband's hometown so I asked him where he'd recommend people "passing through" to stop if they were so inclined. He recommends the Alpha for lunch or Figaretti's for dinner (for "where the locals go" places to eat), and Oglebay park for sightseeing :)
Ah. That's too bad. Food and sightseeing wasn't really our aim. We were hoping to meet you guys and see something of your neck of the woods. We will figure out another time. I have seen quite a bit of Wheeling (good and bad) many years ago. Had to bail my little brother out of a bind there once. He studied briefly in Morgantown.
Ahhhh yes! WVU shenanigans, huh....
