Build Core German Vocabulary for 10 Minutes, Everyday!

Hi everyone!

You want to learn German, but you're a bit lazy or busy to flick through dictionaries?

Here is an opportunity that will take the monotony out of your German learning experience:

This is the seventh day on which I'll be teaching you

10 carefully picked words

out of the 3000 most frequently used German words!

Go to the PART 1 of the German vocabulary building series!

At the end of the series, you will have 3000 words in your German vocabulary, and will be able to understand about 80% of the words in any German text.

All daily feeds will contain 10 carefully picked German words, along with:

  • the German article of the words
  • the English translation
  • a link to the pronunciation
  • an example sentence in German and its translation in English
  • if necessary, an image to help you understand the word!

German Core Vocabulary - PART 6 - Friday, January 12, 2018

  1. (der) Satz = sentence
    Example: Dieser Satz ist für Anfänger leicht zu verstehen.
    Translation: This sentence is easy to understand for beginners.
    Go to the pronunciation!

  2. drei = three
    Example: Es gibt drei Menschen in dem Zimmer.
    Translation: There are three people in the room.
    Go to the pronunciation!

  3. wollen = to want
    Example: Wir wollen unser Geld zurück!
    Translation: We want our money back!
    Go to the pronunciation!

  4. (die) Luft = air
    Example: Ich öffnete das Fenster, um etwas Luft reinzulassen.
    Translation: I opened the window to let some air in.
    Go to the pronunciation!

  5. gut = well
    Example: Fühlst du dich gut?
    Translation: Are you feeling well?
    Go to the pronunciation!

  6. auch = also
    Example: Ich habe einen Bruder und auch eine Schwester.
    Translation: I have a brother and also a sister.
    Go to the pronunciation!

  7. spielen = to play
    Example: Was möchtest du heute spielen?
    Translation: What would you like to play today?
    Go to the pronunciation!

  8. setzen = to put
    Example: Er wollte seine Katze auf den Tisch setzen.
    Translation: He wanted to put his cat on the table.
    Go to the pronunciation!

  9. lesen = to read
    Example: Heute möchte ich dieses Buch lesen.
    Translation: I'd like to read this book today.
    Go to the pronunciation!

  10. (der) Hafen = port
    Example: Das Schiff verlässt den Hafen.
    Translation: The ship is leaving the port.
    Go to the pronunciation!
