All steemian Must know about up-voting. Up-voting gives a post value. Up-votes and down-votes are the distinguish between Good Content or bad content.
Down-voting also important for #Steemit Platform. If you think Up-voting is carrot then down-voting is the whip.The purpose of down-voting is discourage malevolent content and these content which are bad for steem as a whole.

The most important kind of bad content is SPAM it is clutters up the list of posts without adding value to the steemit network.
