My Ways in Teaching Students To Be More Confident

in #steemiteducation7 years ago (edited)

Hi,, Steemians and Educators...

I am a lecturer at one of the universities in the city where I live. I have been teaching for 7 years. I still remember when the first time I came in the classroom for teaching. I was afraid and not confident standing in front of my students, but everything ran well by the time.

Nowadays, when I am teaching, I always give assignments in the form of paper presentations to familiarize the students to talk in front of their friends. At first, they complain and say that they are not confident and have not dared to speak in front of many people.

My students often ask "How do we become confident and able to stand in front of people without hesitation?"

To answer that question, I told them some tips", those are:

You must have a positive thinking to yourself

We are what we think. It measn that everything we believe will happen like what we already believe. So, positive thinking is one way to nurture our mental

Cover your weakness by showing strenghts.

No body is perfect. Everyone must have flaws, but try to cover up the deficiency by bringing up the excess to make us look perfect

Evaluate yourself in order to be better

Whatever we do must be a lack or not satisfactory. Therefore, we need a good evaluation that we do on our own work or by asking the opinions from others.

You must think that everyone is the same in the eyes of god.

Whe we remember that god sees humans with the same view, we will say that we are the same and "I don't have to be afraid of you all"

I always tell my students the tips when they ask or tell me their problem about confidence. Now, they're braver than they before and are more confident to stand in front of the class for task presentations.

Thanks
