Steemhomework for the week: A book that marked my life. My experience in childhood with reading!

in #steemiteducation6 years ago

When I was a girl, I did not like to read because I almost never understood what I was reading and that's why it seemed boring and complicated to sit down to read a book or listen to others read long texts without having anything exciting.

At school, my teachers read long history texts without stopping and everyone in the classroom ended up asleep or fatigued. But one day everything changed, in religion classes they gave us a book of illustrated biblical stories. Personally, I remember that I fell in love with that book, its language was very easy and the illustrations helped me to understand reading, and I became so intimate that reading felt that I was the protagonist of the story and traveled everywhere.

Why do I recommend it?

This book of illustrated biblical stories included stories like David and the giant Goliath, Moses divides the Red Sea, Jonah is swallowed by a big fish, The Birth of Jesus, Balaam and the donkey who spoke, etc. so funny, amazing and that left in me great life teachings such as Obedience, honesty, having faith that we can achieve our goals, give love and respect others as they are, taught me to overcome adversity, to be tolerant and to dream.

There are many books like this in the whole world, in different versions, and in all languages, the key that makes this book so interesting for children, adolescents and even adults are the wonderful stories illustrated and narrated in a very simple language for an easy understanding.

Reading is more fun when you have images

Many books, newspapers, magazines and other reading materials include photographs, drawings, maps, graphs, charts, which clarify, summarize, expand or complement the textual information. The images contribute to and help to understand the texts better.

It is not about being religious, I believe that everything that contributes to the intellectual and integral development of children and adolescents is an important tool that we can use for their learning.
