Privacy of Women on STEEM Blockchain

I am blogging about women specific topics lately. And in previous post I covered how to bring more women into the STEEM blockchain.

While bringing more women into STEEM blockchain I have noticed that some female users want to keep the identity from going public. I think we all have to respect that. I personally have husband working for government and for this reason I don't want to publicly post my selfies and the family photos. However I have noticed that more privacy also means less reach. People like and share content of those who are more social and seen. And that means many female users may not be able to get their opinion heard over the network.

So here are some of the privacy related concerns of women in cryptocurrency.

1. Identity

By posting images on STEEM or any social network, your identify is public. And you have both benefit and losses through that. Depending on how you wish to handle that you may or may not like to open your identity on cryptocurrency based social networks.

2. Reach

We often see more reach happens only when someone shows their personal photo and the identity. And this is something that needs to be changed. Not all male users show their identity yet they get to reach larger userbase. So reaching more people without having to socially identify on network is one thing to focus on.

3. Connection

It can be really hard to connect when we are anonymous. Be it discord server or the STEEM network. You can see that people with anonymous profiles are less likely to have connection. And for this reason they are forced to public their identity. I wish we can change that and make it easier to connect with each other.

These are some of my concerns about women who want to have privacy and not make their personal identity and information public for the exchange of cryptocurrency.

Your views and the guidance on this topic is much appreciated.

I was really hesitant at first to even open myself up to the people and this place, so I'd say I was in the same place in the beginning, but you're right by mentioning that more reach comes if you're more social.

Yes a lot of us don't want to show our face as it has other consequences. So on that note It's really hard to have connections. Thanks for your comment :)

The thing with a platform like Steemit is also how everyone around wants to help other people that have good content, and people like us will want to protect each others identities.

I don't see that as a problem as most women use facebook just to post selfies, what they ate last and are more then happy to post photo of children. Steemit is not a gossip platform or you would not get your blog any further then friend's and family. You have more to lose on facebook then you do on steemit. I gave very little info on steemit, were facebook need to know my whole life to join and also it connect to my email's and also the contact in my phone and god know what else. I dislike Facebook that much I closed my account. I control what go's on steemit, it doesn't control me. That's what I love about it. So women have nothing to fear on Steemit.

Yes. I am not using facebook for the same reason. Husband and I can't use it due to his job. I am sure with STEEM I can atleast have friends without having to disclose my identity along with husbands.
