It is a well know fact that man is a function of what he knows. 'You can only offer what you possess' now a clichè to a lot of individuals doesn't make it loose it's value. In fact, it's value is not understood by those who refuse to accept it's effect. What is this thing called 'education' and what has it done, What has it's effect been? What will it do to those who encounter it? Has it proven beyond all ages to be what it is? Join me as we explore the possibilities and outstanding benefits of education. First of all we must state what education is.
Education is a process by which a person's paradigm is changed, enlightened, reshaped and brightened for the upgrade of his being and the human race at Large. It's been sad to note that in recent times, education have been stereotyped by lot of persons having the wrong ideologies. Education is a beautiful thing as well as a very paramount process providing the vehicle of advancement causing paradigm shift and is in itself the active system that provides these possibilities.
In the bid to understand the term education it should be known that education is stratified into different forms which are based on the source, methodologies, styles and systems by which this process is made. The forms are; formal and informal. Whichever form by which advancement of the mind is made is not the most important but rather the very advancement itself.
It has been for a long time misconstructed that education has to do with being in the four walls of the school at any levels. If this is just the source of information acquisition then it is an alteration on the meaning of education. There are and will be other ways of acquisition of information. Take for instance learning that does not take place within the four walls of the school system still offers advancement to ever-willing-to-learn individuals.
'Why do I need to be educated' or 'of what use of being educated is there to my life and all it entails' are often the questions asked by people who believe being educated means restricting all your abilities to learn something to a school, hence they say "I do not want to go to school" The school system from the primary to the higher institutions offer to a great percentage the service of mental appraisal. The need to be educated cannot be overemphasized because it holds the enhancement of life.
Anything done to improve the current level of the thinking system or to ensure that the mental capacity is broadened is a function of having the tenacity to leave that level putting laws into place to substantiate its effect. This is education!.
Like healing a sick person educating the mind is actually a miracle which holds the capacity to change a dead-end mind to a very active and productive one. Education offers the educated a better chance to go through a challenge better than the uneducated one.
The aforementioned might be arguable, but truth is knowledge makes a difficult situation appear easy or because you are aware of how to deal with it. The challenge of one man can be the success of another, the difference being that the successful one knows and does something the other does not know and probably not doing.
The quest and unending desire of a man for knowledge and the actual systematic process of attaining a state of enlightenment in order to break the bounds of ignorance can radically transform that man's mental state. To want to know is an efficient key in the salvation process of education.
Education is set to begin in the life of an individual when is a few months old. The child begins to do things he could not do. This is not as a result of an innate knowledge rather it is a function of what he has acquired in his stay and his constant interaction with knowledge.
As the child begins to grow in stature, if he or she do not have constant interaction with information through any source available then it will be a case of a physically grown individual but a mentally static one the child would remain in his current state of enlightenment for a long time unless he or she is exposed to education; be it in any form.
A story was told some time ago about a young girl who lost her parents at age 6 and then moved in to live with her uncle. The uncle being a hard man shunned her on most occasions if she faulted in anyway. The uncle who could not handle the young girl properly decided that the best way to train her was to restrict her to living in the basement of the house. She had the necessary supplies to make hair grow physically but had no source of education apart from her uncle who on most occasions yelled either a "Yes" or a "No" to this poor child. She grew up mastering these words and the attitude which she encountered. This dilemma continued until she was discovered when she was about 16 years old. (That's 10yrs of mental a deprivation and emotional torture). She was taken to a rehabilitation center where she had sessions with a psychologist. In her sessions the psychologist discovered that there hasn't been any improvement in her intelligent quotient and that though she was a teenager she portrayed behaviors and thinking patterns of a 6 year old, except for her aggressive Character as learnt from her psychopathic uncle. Sad right? I know.
In the moment, let's consider this situation of the girl. Going through a decade of emotional torture and mentally deprivation is just a little compared to the actual situation she and experienced. Her years that would have been the prime age of development in all ramifications were altered. She didn't choose what had happened to her it still happened. We can see that it is possible that he person can grow physically, but can be mentally static.

As we make this unavoidable Journey true life we begin to comprehend that information is on ever increasing entity yet abstract and those who have had a grasp, a chunk or a bulk of it, live through life more easily compared to a mentally fatigued individual.
Each passing day brings to our doorsteps challenges and difficulties but one thing I know is that education makes a situation a Motile hill even when its vaguely appears as a mountain. Education influences our perception to situations, be it pleasant or otherwise. Education presents the right tool for the right Job. It is evident from research the outstanding effects education as created.
The world will live in has been categorized into the first and third world countries. Sadly the difference between these worlds (if I must say) is a function of the vast facets of the influence of this ancient entity called "Education". How far has the paradigm of individuals and nations been influenced by education, what is the result of its influence and how its effects is being put into proper use, are indirectly the basis of differentiation of these countries.
A country whose individuals appreciate education and are becoming educated is a country that begins to develop simultaneously with the individual's development. A developed country is a function of a developed people and a developed people is a function of the importance and actual effort the people place on education.
Those who had taken the pain and the risk of educating themselves would tell that they have become better persons and are more useful and have found relevance to their societies.
Not being educated is a torture and a deprivation to one's self. Education have brought advancement in life and machine. we owe it to men of old who were not complacent with their current state of development, who through tenacity and resilience chose the path of constant enlightenment and were so gracious as to not hoard but transfer their knowledge to the later generation. (from religion to other facets of life).

I cannot totally exhaust in words the importance of education. I am pained and pricked in heart and anytime I hear people limit being educated to the schooling system. It is like assuming a football field as a cloister (it's a funny abbreviation).
I think it's time we saw, knew and embraced the fact that education, amongst a few things is the way by which man can pathways with ignorance, change the myopic procacism about education and have the audacity to say that ignorance is a thing of the past.
Indeed education is the salvation to man's ignorance.
