A Personal Reflection
Writing is very hard for [at least] my writing students. They find writing is really difficult. Producing a simple writing is extremely a big job. There is no way [as if] to push them to write. It is no wise words to tell them of how important writing practice is super duper important. For most students, writing is such as a [suicide] work. Although, to write 200 words, is really real burden. Why? Is it really impossible to produce a short essay? Are vocabularies the problems? Is it idea the issue? I have so many questions pump up in my mind. I find very stressful to get the clues. What I conclude is Culture and Endurance. Two major barriers. I guess so.
Exploring my students writing activities, I personally found that many students do not practice writing quite often. Asking in personal, students almost never write if there is any assignment due to. It is the fact that students do not believe that idea of practices. In any ways, practice is highly supporting any effort. To increase the habit, it is super difficult. Students prefer to avoid the writing assignment if it is not a compulsory. In fact, habit is real problem to deal with. As a result, without any regular practices, It is very hard to have love and sense of writing. It is very difficult to have fluency during the writing.
Habit is more like an individual internal problem. It has been grown for quite long time. But, it is possible to sharpen or improve it. There are many approaches as long as there is a will. Importantly, personal awareness is basically the starting point to start to love writing. Although encouragements are provided but self actualization is a major trigger.
YES, daily writing is the best approach.
Regular practice [daily] will improve the the endurance. It is very important to to power up. Without the endurance, it is no way to write. Endurance may control or minimize the bad habit to practice writing. This will maintain the consistency of daily practice for instance. Actually, writing is not a difficult job to do, but the commitment and spirit are two important capitals. Both should be able to contribute to eliminate the laziness [or hate to write].
The expectation is students love to write. They have to believe writing a good way to share stories. It is a corridor to share stories of life. Writing is a "weapon" to share knowledge.
Furthermore, culture is another crucial problem. Most students are not used to write. Although they are at the 3rd year, they are very rare to produce a piece of essay. They find writing is very challenging and impossible. Sometime, they may hate writing.
This may be a reality in most classrooms as long as I have experienced. To write is really hard.
Therefore, practices will shed the light. There should be love it.
Hope will inspire...
