Meaning of the use of colors and their relationship with childhood emotions
Red: usually indicates hostility and aggressiveness. Frequently in the periods of emotional difficulty or after an agonizing event there is an increasing use of this color, until it becomes the dominant color.

• Blue: means that the child is moving from the impulsive emotional reactions of the early years of childhood to feelings and a more stable behavior. It is a sign of a greater capacity for reflection and suggests a feeling of self-control and autonomy.

• El Amarillo: the child who usually chooses this color as his predominant in his paintings is enthusiastic, open and more emotional than most. It is also more dependent on adults and always seeks approval and advice. He likes to attract attention.

• The Green: the child who is inclined to this color has more confidence in himself and is more mature than normal in children of his age. Tends to be unmoving and focuses life in a very moderate and serene way. Despite his autonomy, he usually gets along well with others and shows that he has leadership skills.

• The Brown: its use represents that the child is constant persevering in its activities. He likes to deepen his studies and is calm.

• The Orange: when a child uses this color he is usually sociable and friendly. He needs to be surrounded because he dislikes being alone.

• El Morado or EL Negro: when you add these dark tones in your drawings, you are actually launching a cry for help. The excessive use of these colors is almost always associated with deep unhappiness and depression. If you want to help the child to solve his problem it is necessary to discover the cause of his depressive feelings.

The Color Overlay

It is a very significant feature, it indicates that the emotions expressed through the use of the first color are being masked by the feelings associated with the second color.
For example:

• Green superimposed on yellow expresses the desire to hide joyful feelings.

• Red superimposed on black represents anger.

• Blue superimposed on green expresses observation and sensitivity.

• Green superimposed on blue expresses susceptible feelings.
