Transparent Creatures

What are first things that come to mind when you think of transparent objects? When I think of transparent objects I think of transparent bottles, tables, containers, sliding doors, drinking glasses, chairs and so on. There are numerous transparent objects that are all around us, ones we know of and some that we didn't even realise exist. In this post we are going to look at transparent creatures from all around the world, some that we already know of and some that will be new to us.

Mnemiopsis leidyi - Sea Walnut:

This creature is said to be native to the western Atlantic coastal waters.

Barreleye fish: Talk about creepy! The barreleye fish or even called the spook fish, scientifically known as the Opisthoproctidae, come from the Pacific, Indian and Atlantic ocean. What makes this fish so creepy is the fact that its head is completely transparent whereas the rest of the body isn't. Its diet consists of small jellyfish and small fish. This fish also doesn't have any teeth in its mouth.

Vitreledonella richardi - Glass octopus:

Palaemonetes Ghost Shrimp:

Salpidae - Sea salp:

The first picture above is actually how a sea salp looks on its own, the second picture shows how they look when they link up together, which is how they are usually seen.

Cyanogaster  Noctivaga - Blue Bellied Night Wanderer: This fish originates from Brazil and was found in 2011, so there isn't much information on it.

Aurelia Aurita - Moon Jellyfish:

Thecosomata - Sea butterfly:

Euplectella Aspergillum - Venus' Flower Basket:

The venus flower basket can be found in the Philippine Islands, the Indian Ocean, Japan and the western Pacific Ocean.

Centrolenidae - Glass frog:

This type of fish can be found in South America and Southern Mexico. Their diet consists of spiders and other small insects.

Anguilla Aguilla - European Eel:

Paralarvae Octopus:

Notothenioidei - Antarctic Ice fish:

Found in Antarctica, New Zealand and South America. The Antarctic ice fish feeds on all different kinds of fish, krill and crabs.

Monomorium pharaonis - Pharaoh Ants:

Finally, I have come across my favourite topic on steemit. These transparent creatures just look amazing especially at night. Fireflies are also transparent creatures i guess. I wish to see fireflies under water. How'd they look like???
Have a good day. You made my day by sharing this. I have followed you. A heart for you 💚
