The power of positive focused intention (and mantras, and such) is really a practice, or — better yet — even a "lifestyle." Mindfulness (including positive/negative thought forms) aren't a "thing" so much as a way of living... and I think a lot of people don't follow through because they get a little ways in and discover that it's WORK! Well, hell's to the yeah!
It's a bit like relationships. Great relationships are not "effortless" as many dream... relationships are work, and great relationships are a lot of work. But it's not "heavy" work, it's joyful work.
I don't know if I'm making sense here...
