KSA - Life in the "SANDBOX" < you'll always be in my heart > steemit blog #2

in #steemitblog7 years ago (edited)

First and foremost, I love you Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. You made me strong, hardworking, independent and friendly. Why do I love this country? For our stay in 8 years, in and out, my family is truly amazed at what we had experienced there.

Let me share with you my Steemians, Strong? It's because we are far away from our loved ones. "homesick" as we call it haha... Hardworking, I did some babysitting tasks at home, Pakistan babies and even Kabayan kids. At night, sometimes I do attend parties or wedding rites but not as a guest but as a food attendant, serving all the needs of the party. We call it "functions" in hotels or in houses. This word made me exposed to such traditional and social affair in the kingdom, as well as I've got savings.

Independent as a mother of two kids and a housewife is not also a joke if you still have the babysitting at the same time, right? I almost carried it every day, cooking, laundry, cleaning the house and school needs of my children.

Alright, let's go beyond this, who among my Steemians played in the red sand? Look at my daughter, she's really enjoying it. I don't know why but she never sneezed. Maybe because she's delightful and amazed. If only, I am not carrying my youngest, I'll be joining her. Her father took my place and very glad to play it too.

A lot of people are mislead to what they hear from others. Some are saying.. Oh, Saudi Arabia is a desert right? Yes, it's correct! "disyerto, mainit, and no social life daw for expats." But you are very wrong. This place is full of adventures. You can see what you're looking for. Big establishments like five - star hotels, high - rise buildings and modernly designed malls around, you can choose where to shop but of course! I am with a not too big mall, with their SALE and discounts offered haha... solved!

If you don't have the money or "nagtitipid",  you can send your family to the park and pray for a good weather outside, no sandstorm, haha... Aside from playgrounds there,  you can enjoy seeing the trees around it. Date trees are one of the trademarks of Saudi. So sweet, yummy dates... One more good thing here is you gain friends with different nationalities.

As of now, we still cherish our moments in KSA then and now. Did you know that my youngest daughter still remembers our activities every weekend there? She's now seven years old. For her, it's fun and memorable, that's why she doesn't ever forget it. We brought her with us when she's only 5 months old.

Exactly 2 years now that we are away from that country and I can say, we truly treasure our stay there for 8 long years. If somebody will ask if we will go back there, you are welcome, my dear KSA.

About the people there, they are all nice, especially when it's Ramadan. Wow! One thing that passes through my mind during this time, we always watch my husband arrive home and looking what he brought for us that was given by Muslim brothers and sisters. Surprisingly, a box of candies or cookies plus bottled water. We do appreciate them indeed since we are only expats in their territory.

We are excited to come back again in time and wear my favorite ABAYA. I love black. I know we can go back again because my husband is still there working. It's just that, we have to prioritize our children's schooling but you know, there are lots of Philippine - International schools there.

God willing, we will meet again SANDBOX and kingdom for us to say. You are well loved not only us, but still our many friends there that are residing and working. Now that Ramadan is coming in May, let's join in commemorating and honoring it this holy month for our dear Muslim brothers and sisters. You are special to us.

This is all for now. Hope to make another blog again for Steemit. Thank you for reading and I hope for a support from you guys. More power! More Steemit!

Before I close this, my thanks to Ms. Shane Ilagan. Thank you @surpassing google @lebron2016.

What a hardworking mom you are! You deserve success and I wish to see you shinning more here in steemit.

Personally, it is not my choice of destination but it's good to hear that Filipinos are always welcomed in that place.

Yes, you are right ma'am :)

One thing that I loved about Filipinos when they are about is that they really unite to comfort each other to beat loneliness.

Fiipinos are strong and yet sensitive but they can carry it naturally.
