RE: My Blue Belt Blues

in #steemitbjj7 years ago

I decided to train at home this week, something light with weighs, pull ups and abs, damn it still hurts, I hope I will be able to be back to the mat next week at least for drilling.hey @bell2bell "never back down" thats right, that was a great movie for me, very motivating.

Regarding the average belt system, it says you have to be at least 6 months to 1 year as white before getting the blue, then 2 to 4 years with the blue before getting the purple, 3 years at least wit the purple before getting the brown, and at least 2 years with your brown belt before getting the black belt (like my professor Ray), it is listed as each belt tacked on to the previous.

But you know, this is an average, in reality it all depends on you and the criteria of your professor or academy, I have seen guys going from blue to purple in just 2 years, and guys that spend to much time in blue, but at the end of the day, the mat is the one that says how technical you are.

Following you bro, is cool to meet a new bjjer in steemit!

thanks I'm following you as well to be honest I only post a bit of bjj related stuff. I did post something about improving gi grips so you might consider that, with a hurt rib it might be a good time to focus on your grip tho ribs can make anything impossible if they are being difficult

I will follow you as well
most of what I put on here honestly is either related to stand up or precious metals
