Is it correct that "promoting" is a form of buring your SBD/Steem?
If that is the case, it makes a lot of sense as the value burnt by promoting indirectly goes back to the community with the token issuance.
With more traffic there are for sure going to be entities that wanna promote their content, thus creating value for steemit and its users :)

Thats a really strong model going forward, as it actually makes a lot of economic sense for the platform. Especially considering inflation. With lots of good organic content publishers, contentcreators and advertisers will want to drive traffic and clicks.
