Based on research conducted by the University of Washington, women (in this case mothers), lower the intelligence genes more because women have two X chromosomes. Fathers have only one X chromosome. This chromosome determines a child's cognitive function.
Other evidence from a study conducted by the Medical Research Council Social and Public Health Science Unit of 12,686 people aged 14 to 22 years. The questions raised focus on IQ, race, education and socio-economic status. From a series of questions, it was concluded that the best predictor of their intelligence is their mother's IQ.
