Amazing idea. I have never thought of this. I think it will benefit us all to have a stake in the EOS to avoid regrets. Like you suggested, a mass staking done from steem blockchain may be helpful. This may consider staking a particular percentage of steemit users holding in steem power.

It would require steemit.inc to act on our behalf. They would likely need to use steemit account funds to purchase ETH and then contribute to the EOS distribution contract. Naturally if this was implemented, they would control all the EOS that came of it so we would all need to understand what exactly would happen to the funds afterwards.
