RE: You are probably voting too often! Here is why! [Pro Tips]

in #steemit7 years ago

Well let me share my story. I ain't a very heavy Steemit user. I mean I ain't online 24 hours continuously upvoting. There are days when I can spend more time here than some other days when I can't spend a moment for Steemit. For example, the days when I used to maintain my VP over 90%, when I used to sleep and do other choirs, I'd normally return to the platform after a gap of about 12 hours. So if I left my account with about 95% VP, I'll really wasting more than 5% of replenishment as my VP can not go over 100%. And this is only for a small gap of half a day. What if I ain't using steemit for couple of days? I'd be making much more losses. So over spending my VP makes better sense to me than under spending. I can't be so consistent with my voting frequency compared to the replenishment rate. So you rightly said that to each his own. And for me, "overspending" (the way you will call it) suits me more.

Thanks for all your advice anyway!

That is a good valid point, that is where phase 2 comes in to play! Keep in touch you won't want to miss out on this!

Another thing I'd like to point out is that as you said; a vote for me won't cost 2% as in bringing my VP down to 58 from 60 but it will cost me 2% of 60 i.e. only 1.2 VP bringing down my VP to 58.8 from 60. And that's the advantage of being at 60! At 100% VP your 10 votes would bring down your VP by about 20% where as at 60% VP, I can vote almost twice than you and spread my votes more until I hit my VP to 40%. So figure out who is losing what 😉

And I bet with your SP over 4,000 you are not always voting at your 100% vote weight. You must be playing around with your sliding scale? Aren't you?

Well, I just checked up and found that your last vote (the only vote you made in the last hour) was weighed at only 4% despite your VP is over 80%. 😉

So why do you expect planktons & red fishes to always cast their vote at 100% vote weight?

(Well, I know, much of my calculations aren't exact since I ain't good at math but you get the drift. I'd probably do the exact calculation with the help of a calculator when I'd write a post on this subject some time).

Waiting for your phase-2. Following you!
