Delivery of up-votes rightly

in #steemit7 years ago

I am quite new to Steemit. My judgment and conviction about this topic might not be completely correct. Nevertheless, i would like to share with you how I understand the functioning of delivery of upvotes in Steemit. I understand that good content and nice pieces of writing are supposed to be the basis for getting as many upvotes as possible by the community. It is noticeable that those having higher steem power are upvoting mostly those that have more power and from whom they are very likely to get more rewards.
This is rather democratic and it is a matter of choice for everyone. It is very personal. However, it may not have positive effect to the new users who struggle a lot to get the attention of the audience and attract the community in Steemit.

Having said that i will conclude by inviting all of the community users of good will to contribute in supporting the new comers and at the end of the day it will be paid back to those who get so many upvotes in case their followers had more steem power. Finally the cooperation and mutual interest of the entire community is what holds it together. Hand in Hand cooperation.jfif

One of the issues with steemit it that the vast majority of users don't invest any money in it!
If you are a big youtuber or talented artist etc it is possible to grow your account fairly quickly without investing money.
But most people, that don't leave after a short while (a lot do) will still have tiny accounts (less than 500 dollars) after a years worth of time and effort!
Thats the reality of it.
If you invest time and money as I have done it speeds up the process.

Great post @xhevat.

One way to combat this is to use services like SmartSteem, where you can get a guaranteed ROI on purchased upvotes and earn Steem passively by selling votes or delegating Steem Power.

Long term, I hope that the platform and community evolves to address this problem, though.

Many of us who now have Steem Power also struggled to earn it.

We supported each other. As you grow and your network grows it lifts up your account. Many of us are already supporting tons of people. We have a limited amount of time and voting power.

We have... 37 whales and 1800ish Dolphins. We can't support the new comers.

On a personal note, I would rather support people who are here, invested, I know they are going to stay... I built my network, and it is nearly maxed out with my time and voting power. The next group will have to build each other, just as we did!

If someone has told you that you should try to find big voters you did not receive good advice.

Good point @whatsup. I think there are still some imbalances that need to addressed, though, if we want Steemit to continue to grow.

We can only onboard so many people and we haven't even marketed yet. Mature content creators are used to paying for visibility because that is how it works elsewhere.

Imbalances are everywhere. Content only holds value here due to the crypto speculation. I know there are many who want things to be all about the content. I am focused on Investors, those who understand they are getting in early and soon.. We will be opening the flood gates.

I'm out of patience with the ones who are talking about things being unfair. Go make a twitter account and see how many posts you make before anyone speaks to you. (if you don't friend your friends)

People better invest, or set their expectations to have a long slow grind!

That's true. I actually run an adventure website at adaptnetwork.com and it's taken me quite a few years to grow my audience outside of Steemit, so I hear you. 👍

That is actually true. It takes time and energy to build the network. I was not trying to say that I should be helped just because I was new to Steemit. I just expressed what i felt and what i saw happening around. Thank you for your contribution to the topic. As a community we are, we should be able to address our concerns whatever they are? Right?

In my opinion and experience, socializing is everything here. When you make friends and engage with others, you will get those upvotes too. We are humans and human behavior is like that. In the beginning, new users should comment and interact with others more than they spend writing, that is how I did it. Discord servers are a big help for meeting people. Find your people and you will find your happiness. Best of luck to you 💚
