About trust and how powerfull it can be if it works

Without pictures, without titles, just thoughts.

I am at this moment super touched and emotional. I recently shared some very valuable stuff to total strangers. And you know what, it worked. This commentary is about that.

I am a total fan of sharing. For me it’s about the idea that property is not physically mine - which it actually cant anyway - but only is under my control in terms of what’s happening to it. So sharing is the idea of handing over control over something to someone else. Usually it comes with a contract, conscious or not, but it comes with some sort of agreement, at the very least, that the control will be handed back to one self after some time.
So in essence, whatever I share becomes subject of another person’s will. Let’s say I lend "my" bicycle to somebody. During the time of lending, that person will do with it what they want. Usually, people you share stuff with will consider one’s own mentality about how to treat stuff. Meaning, the person borrowing my bicycle will probably not do stuff with the bicycle that I wouldn’t do. Sometimes though it will also include a more precise agreement, even written. Sometimes the reward for lending is appreciation, gratitude, sometimes its literally money.

In any case there is a relationship, an awareness between the lender and the borrower. Be it commercial or non-commercial be it conscious or not, there is a dialogue, an understanding of each other’s perception of the world. If I borrow my friends most favorite item, I will show my respect to that person, by treating the object that way that I think they want it treated. That is how I do it. There is something deeper here too about culture and psychology, but that’s another article :)

In order for lending to work though, that mechanisms need to be learned. We need to train ourselves what it means to borrow something. And this for me is interesting about the @globalschool but also the steemit community. Does this community support that learning, does it allow our consciousness to take this appreciation to borrow stuff and therefore finally advance into a society that is not based on property but on ideas? Because that is what it is! If I borrow, I recognize that someone invested into that and that I do not waste that resource. If everyone did that, we could just borrow everything, anytime.

So, yes, here is not only a relationship, there is also exposure to ideas and innovation. If I lend my bicycle to somebody, maybe that person will experience an inspiration while riding it, maybe that person will want to use it other than just riding it? If I - the lender - have the understanding that the bicycle is not mine, but just under my control, that it is me who is investing for keeping it functional it has certain implications, well actually also opportunities. Because if I change my perception, let’s say that lending my stuff includes the borrower in maintenance of my bicycle then it becomes interesting. If the bicycle is no longer just my object, my possession, but a function that can and should be used by as many as possible, it could mean that my original investment is being rewarded by other people maintaining other goods that I can use. This means that lending no longer is just a relationship between me and the person borrowing, but between all of us. Everybody invests in something, that can be used by everyone.

If societies were built on the idea of functionalities being maintained but used by all, if we were able to organize and manage our resources that way, which I think the steemit community and blockchain technology could be about, I believe we would have a profoundly beautiful civilization. The biggest advantage would be efficiency. We wouldn’t have to all have to buy everything for our self (in a family of 5 people not everyone needs a drilling machine). But what is fascinating is that the efforts we have for protecting our stuff would be eliminated.

Just imagine if I didn’t have to lock my bicycle anymore, what if I would not have to lock anything anymore? Do you know how much time you spend in your life locking things and actually unlocking them? I mean, how many times per day are you searching in your bag for your key for something, how much time is being spent searching the right key?

Well, this trust in community consciousness of things, happened to me twice this last week. I was able to trust a big value to somebody I didn’t know. In both cases trust was present. For a short moment I felt what it means if we all trusted each other. And I can tell you, it is enormously powerful. It is unimaginable beautiful to experience the power of trust.

Let me tell you: I share! I take responsibility and I will contribute in enabling our societies to do so.

I like your blogpost very much, because it is exposing Shermin Voshmgir's predictions for 2018: the incentivization of behavior. Furthermore, your post is written in the spirit of emotional intelligence (our often commonly shared topic @mammasitta). You're totally right in describing our key obsession! Immediately, I had that picture in mind. I'm looking forward to more of your interesting and prudently written posts. Please consider the development of your blogpost design like justification and automatic spell checking before payout. Apart from that, well done!

Thanks @sciencevienna for the feedback and motivation. Yep, the spelling was awful, just noticed, was totally under the impression of the overwhelming success of trust  changed that now and also the formatting, that was a helpful remark, thanks for that too.
