RE: I couldn't sleep and I suddenly realized SteemIt is perfect...

Yes, I got frustrated with all the "shit posts" for a while also. Then I got over that and focused on some new imagined problem. That is part of how we attract different types of users, by being different types of users. :)

One of our tools is flags, so we can also use that tool to help move content where we think it deserves to be.

Sort:

I see your point, and I approve of the designation "shit posts." But on this free and open platform, it's probably impossible to avoid them.

However, Steemit is a meritocratic platform, so most of those who post insignificant crap will most likely fall by the wayside. Hopefully.

I doubt that we can flag all those shit posts. I sure would not want to spend time doing that, and they may not even really be flag worthy.

Whatever, it seems that Steemit has enough people producing quality content, and they are the ones who will merit upvotes and Steem Power. Let's all work towards that end.

Sounds like a plan to me. The more users we have and the better our tools get, the easier it will be for end-users to create a custom feel to what we see. (I hope)

Right. And while now many of the quality posts get lost or abandoned in the vast STrEEM, we might be able to turn the tables, such that the shitposts get lost in a grand STREEM of quality posts.

Then, those Steemians who produce quality material will have good reason to remain on this platform, while those who don't will (hopefully) realize that there's not much point for them to hang around and earn only cents / week. Then they'll go back to F_c_Book.

Thereafter, Steemit will dazzle with pure brillance, or at least a very good semblance thereof. Onwards!
