Help a Minnow Today! Now is the Time to Value Our New Users.

in #steemit8 years ago

My Post is About Improving New User's Experience.  We Are the Community.  This is all of our jobs! If you are invested in SteemIt financially, with time, or emotionally - make it your job to do something for a Minnow today!  Let's make it a focus to help each other in order to bring us all success.

If you have been following me you might have seen my posts on the Minnow Experience.  This SteemIt environment can be difficult to manage.  We are all in this together, whether you are a Whale or a Dolphin or a Minnow, please find a new user and follow, vote or at least greet and comment.

I can't tell you how many times I have been in Chat and watched a Minnow come in with a question and be ignored.   There is no easy place to get help.  User Retention and new investments are needed for SteemIt to be successful.  I know we all want to grow our accounts, but also maybe we could each commit to doing at least one thing a day to help a minnow move forward.  I especially recommend answering questions, comments, obviously a vote, or a ReSteem.

In 24 Hours I will be giving away one of my hard earned Steem Dollars to someone I see giving a helping hand to a minnow!  I can not change the platform alone, so let's make a community that supports tomorrow's dolphins. Yes, I put this way down here to make sure you had to read this to earn a Steem Dollar.

Please put your Minnow Helping Experience in the Comments.

I want to grow ....

@insteadofmoney, now this tip is fun and it works. Tons of posts with 0 comments on new posts. Some of these dolphins are just as social as me. My greatest pleasure is commenting on a post and creating a dialogue. If you continue to do so a friendship will be created. Don't comment on a post for a day or two and they will hunt you down. I have dozens of quality friends on here like @whatsup and @steevc. You comment on my content and I click on your profile and read a few posts. This is a social network so get social. I'm @runridefly and happy to meet you.

:) Always looking out for the little guys!

Engage with people by leaving relevant comments. Then they may follow you back. You have to build connections. It does work, but it can take time.

I see you have been doing this. Keep it up.

Thanks for everyone !!!
will folow your advice !
Thank you again for support !

Thanks for everyone support !!!
I will follow your lessons !!!

Feel free to join the #steemprentice channel in steemit.chat. There are dozens of site veterans there only to help and/or give suggestions/feedback. :)

Welcome! We want you to grow also. Engage with other users, some will tell you this is about Quality Content, which in part it is. However, it is also about name recognition and friends/followers.

If you haven't checked out https://steemit.chat/channel/general Go there also to promote your work and make friends. :)

@whatsup, you're on your way to sainthood. Thank you for caring. Steem On Dude!

great initiative

Thank you, I feel like I am finally breaking out of the tiny minnow, it was really difficult and I had a lot of time. I would like to help others achieve that feeling and stick around SteemIt.

Even though I'm brine, or whatever designation lies below those zippy little minnows, I like to do what @rundiefly suggests here in the comments. Newbs helping newbs.

I just came across this minnow, @marsalive, posting on a topic that entertains and piques my curiosity to no end, "SPAAAAAAAAACE, the final frontier!"

Cheers!

Perfect example. I will check him out! Thank you! Even Minnows and Brine can help each other.

Don't put me in the running for the SD, but this is exactly where I was about 6 weeks ago, trying to find ways to be helpful to minnows. It's what led me to start one on one mentoring with a few users, at which point I couldn't take on more personally for fear of burnout and/or falling behind. Hence the idea to launch #steemprentice ...crowdsourced mentoring for anyone :D

I know you are always helping. I love the #steemprentice channel. I love the mentoring minnow idea, I have been thinking to about asking people to "Adopt a Minnow". :) Thank you for your input.

@whatsup, I want to adopt a minnow. Where was the help like this just less than 2 months ago. I owe a lot to @fyrstikken and @venuspcs, but i don't see @venuspcs much anymore. I resteemed the awesome post of yours.

Haha, I think that's an awesome idea!! I want that on a tshirt now.. "I adopted a minnow, you should too!" lol

Oh!!! I do want the Tee-Shirt. If someone can design it. I will order one! :)

good idea
i try to help them all the time

Thank you, I have seen you out helping as well. I want to help contribute to a culture that values the minnows. Spread the word.
