Steem power seems to very important to this site, but I'm not sure why.
Some of my questions are:
- What is power?
- How does power benefit the user?
- How does power benefit steemit?
- How do users get it?
- Have you noticed a difference as your power has increased?
- Have you powered down? If so, what was that like?
- Have you noticed a difference since you're powered down?
Any and all observations about power are welcome. I'm trying to understand this not so straight forward topic.
Basically what @whatsup said!
I'm enjoying seeing the value of a post actually going up now that I have more Steem Power :-)
Wow! It's cool that you can effect this post so much!
Steem Power - Powers your account. Although I could read your post either way, I can currently give it about 6 cents due to the amount of Steem Power I hold. (A medium amount) The more I have the more powerful my vote.
It benefits me when I vote for my own "Stuff" or when I influence the content on the site, by voting for articles that I like.
It benefits SteemIt, by giving me an incentive to save my SteemPower instead of cash it out or spend it.
You can get it, by earning it via being a witness or by blogging. You can also purchase it at an exchange.
Yes!
Not much. I think I have taken 300 SP out to trade with. It was simple and easy.
I haven't powered down, but if I did, my votes would be powerless again. ;)
That's interesting. So if I powered down and had zero power, it sounds like my votes wouldn't count.
They would "Count" as in show a number in the upvote section. However, they would not add much if anything to the overall "reward" of the post you were voting on.
