I've been on steemit from almost 4 months. This post is dedicated to all newbies who face trouble for making their presence in this community.
Unfortunately in the world today, there are many who strive so hard to succeed, yet they’d forget those who had helped them in the past. It’s a sad reality, because once they succeed, they’d often forget these people’s existence. Nobody is whale when they join this community they are on their spot because of the newbies who upvoted them from the beginning.
I feel like a lot of people nowadays think that if they become something, they did it all by themselves.
So far on steemit i found various types of people.
Whales
Go look at the trending section, now go look at the hot section...almost all the posts are written by high rep/high steem accounts, yeah...whales! I realize this is sort of the point, and I don't begrudge whales all the glory and Steem they have, after all, we all aspire to be rich one day as well. Since they are whales they don't even bothered to look post who's reputation level is below 30. I mean why would they look ? They can simply judge that person by their reputation level.
People Who See Posts But Don't Upvote
I mean what is wrong with you guys? You're full flesh of human body not even a bot who instruct you to vote only people who has higher reputation. You guys having enough reputation to support new users on #steemit but yet you do somewhat partiality with whale side on to gain higher upvote. I'm just saying that if you guys out there with high rep could be the part of growth of new users and help them to prove themselves at this platform.
Even if some newbie try to write quality content it gets ignored due to low reputation.
Bots
Now days almost everyone is using bots on steemit to get higher upvotes and make their presence even better.
We puny humans can be depressingly fragile and flawed, a realization that's all the more discouraging when we consider the incredible potential for bots.
Not indicating that the content you copy/paste including images is not your original work could be seen as plagiarism.
These are some tips on how to share content and add value:
Repeated plagiarized posts are considered spam. Spam is discouraged by the community, and may result in action from the cheetah bot.

As a matter of fact, this happens on pretty much every social media platform. Celebrities get more and more attention and followers everyday. And basing popularity on number followers is just a marketing tactic by the creators to keep u on their platform, yearning for reconciliation, making u work more for it. How do u think Facebook is so popular?
This is one of the reasons why I quit social media. Oh, and one more thing...
If u wish to find quality content, the average person would obviously turn to the person with the highest reputation score cause he/she would've made some quality content to reach that level. That person wouldn't want to rummage around the vast majority of the low reputation score users...
But I do agree on the fact that people shouldn't completely disregard them. People of all reputation scores should view and upvote quality content by newbies once in a while. Steemit has a bunch of curators like @good-karma who upvote quality posts and comments by newbies.
But other than this, I don't know what other solution is possible.
Totally agree with you @rkdupron
Yeah. It seems that people who have to support to new users already engaged with whales and other rep members. If they manage to withdraw some time for newbie like us it will be treasure for new users.
This is why I'm a bit hesitant to make my first blog post.
If I put a lot of time and effort into it, is it all going to be wasted because I don't have enough Steem Power myself?
Make yourself comfortable here. Keep posting. You don't have to care about upvote. If the high rep members don't want to us to be supported. We are here to support you.
Post your article.
It does to create your presence you have to build followers and literally wait them to vote for you. But in my opinion you should start creating content. @daan you don't know until you do so.
Will definitely post it, regardless of how much it will be read.
I do notice gaining a bunch of followers just from upvoting and commenting, so that's pretty good at least.
hmmm
@vnyrox another great post from.
It's true & sad at the same time, that Whales are gaining more weight than that of the newbies.
I have read a post , by fellow steemian about quiting steemit because of not getting upvotes because of low reputation level.
That is really sad dude @pstalks :(
well i think, its not only posting that increases your earning. upvotes and comment on other peoples post, it helps too
