Because steemit is populated by crypto-nerds mainly and the big whales mostly upvote cheering and hyping posts about cryptos!
There are other categories and topics on steemit but they fly under the radar mainly.
My thought is because this is a crypto-based payment system so you are going to see a lot of those kind of posts. Regular folks haven't figured out the world is transitioning to a crypto-based monetary system.
