Hello fellow steemians,
Today started like any other day, really. I wake up and first thing is I check my Facebook. As I am scrolling through my feed I noticed that my friend @giftedgaia was having a garage sale . So, I figured what the heck... I have some time between my lunch meeting and when I have to go to work. I think I will stop by and hang out with him for a little while.
So, of course I lounge around a bit more before I clean up and head to my meeting. The meeting of course goes well, and was rather fun if I do say so myself. I then head over to this garage sale where I will meet with my friend. He is not there when I arrive. This is all ok of course as another friend that I have not seen in quite a long time is also there. We ended up chatted things up for a while. Talking about everything from our old DJ days, music, and food to what we each have going on in life now days. This was certainly a very cool shared moment.
After a little while giftedgaia shows back up to the house with some food from Chipotle. Which looked quite delicious. However, I had already eaten at this point. Anyhow, the conversation continues as some strange and also not so strange people are rummaging through yesterdays forgotten crap.
A little while later we are shutting down the garage sale, and giftedgaia says to me, "hey, would you like to come over and discuss steemit? I noticed you said you still have some questions about the format". Of course, I jumped on this offer, and replied with, "I am already figuring some things out with steemit, and already am enjoying the site. I think it has some really great potential, and there certainly are some things I would like to discuss and learn"
So, we end up taking the short journey across town back to his place. Which I might add (coming from an audio guy and techie's point of view) looks flippin' sweet! There is podcast gear all over the table from the @steemittalk podcast that he does with @winstonwolfe and @sykochicka. There is also DJ gear and a great big computer monitor sitting in the corner. I got a little bit giddy to say the least.
It was at this point we sat down in front of his computer and started discussing many aspects about Steemit, the wallet, bitcoin, investing, transfering funds, curation, steem power, steemwhales, discord and so many other things. I will have to say that thanks to @giftedgaia I now have a much fuller working understanding of the whole platform.
It really seemed like the time flew by while we were there hanging out. I almost ended up being late for work. Hopefully, we will be able to reunite again soon over a cold one or to play with the drone and do some photograhy, and of course.. the inevitable talk about this new wonderful world of Steemit!
I dare say that if there is anything you wish to learn about steemit go and check out @steemittalk and download discord. They have vast knowledge on Steem and anybody, even those who have been here for a while can learn something from this amazing group of individuals!
With that, it is waaaay past my bed time... I bid you adieu!
Nice:) following you man
I used to do a podcast for a while last year, but got distracted by paying clientele and quit. I've had tables looking like that setup myself. I need to get back into that.
Now. what the hell is that tube thing in your office meeting? Pet hamsters in the conference room? Or a tiny tuner car turbo mockup :P
That is indeed a hamster tube at a meeting.
No hamsters were harmed in the making of that meeting ;)
Somehow, as a 30 year tech veteran meeting participant, something seems completely fitting about that. I was kinda hoping it was a turbo mockup for a Honda Civic though. :P
I'm sure we will have upcoming post with some of those beauties in them in the future. :)
hehe. he said "beauties". Lol, my pepsi has 2 liters too and goes whoosh when you really open it up!!!! :P Kidding!!!! I prefer a straight track and a billion pounds of torque and smoke and fire, but I wouldn't kick a tricked civic out of the garage either I guess.
I am a lover all all cars. What I do find amazing is how some of these import cars are putting out such incredible amounts of horsepower these days. That tied with their little weight, and you can have a real monster on your hands. I guess they just intrigue me a bit more since It takes a lot more work and thought into making big power with these cars versus getting large gains from a lot less work because of a much larger displacement.
I know which one I'd rather hit the track wall in.... Just sayin' ;)
