Me buying my way from like 350 up to 500 or whatever had a small effect on the amount of money on my upvote but it's not as if your'e going to be able to directly pay yourself back with upvotes unless you make a HUGE investment.
That said I woudl say it helps you make more money in a kind of roundabout way ie your able to vote more and spread out your votes so for example with no slider you have 10 votes per day. With a slider you can upvote only say 10% so you can get 10 votes in for what would have previously taken 1 vote worth of power so you can upvote more people which I think in turn will bring more attention to your profile and more people upvoting you.

I'm thinking of taking some SP on lease from minnowbooster. If minnowbooster leases enough SP (I'm curious if they have an upper limit for leasing SP), then I think one could get a dollar or two at 100 % slide?
