STEEMIT: Quality over Quantity Mindset

This applies to so many things in life, and I realized being here on steemit is no different.

We all want followers, we all want STEEM and STEEM POWER, as much of it as we can get, and some go great lengths to get it.

I’ve laid out my intentions here a couple of times and quality is what I’m seeking. I’m here to provide value, but only to those that are looking for the specific value I have to offer.

I’m clear on what my message is, in hopes that it will become even more clear overtime, with even more posts that will lead to more followers.

Just like attraction marketing, using our posts and engagement within specific communities to seek out a specific outcomes and “followers” is what will give us that quality factor.

Creating content with the intent to resonate with “everyone” is not a good plan. As much as you may think that everyone should find value in what you have to offer, doesn’t mean they will. In fact, it’s almost impossible.

This is why it’s so important to create content within particular niches. To keep it specific. To keep consistency in the message and the value that you’re offering.

Focus on creating content that really resonates with the the communities/niche that you are an expert in, that you’re passionate about and that you can see yourself creating content around for the long term.

You may loose followers and your list of followers may be slower to grow. But you’re going to be growing a quality list of people vs anyone and everyone.

Seek to create quality content over quantity too. I know the urge to push out as much as we can is there, but we don’t want to be putting out just anything. Take the time to come up with good content, formatted the best you can and be authentic.

It may appear that volume is going to equal success, not always, and I believe this platform will prove this to be true overtime. It’s going to be quality that wins.

The way in which we earn STEEM and STEEM POWER here, can be done with quality in mind too. In the long run, it’s going to feel good that you earned it honestly and authentically with the help of a following that really cares about your content.

Growth needs a foundation. And when we don’t have clarity around our intentions and foundation, it could create a messy and unpredictable outcome.

You want your followers to look forward to your posts. You want them to read all your work not just a post here and there. You want to create loyal followers that come back, time and time again.

Writing with the intent to resonate specifically, helps us filter out those that have no interest in what you have to offer. To put it point blank, you don’t want them as a follower anyway.

The same goes for following others. I’ve been trying to really be selective in who I want to follow, I’m seeking quality content that interests, communities in my interest and people that I can create friendships with.

Striving for quantity is messy, unpredictable, and confusing for everyone. Strive for quality. Strive to do the best job you can. Know you’re worth and be confident that there are more than enough quality followers that will find you in good time, just be consistent and clear with what value you’re offering.

I believe it’s a good mindset to develop, here on this platform.

I wish everyone success!

Great post man. I can't stress focusing on a particular niche and going balls deep enough. I have selected health/fitness. I agree having the clarity aspect is super important. You need a foundation first before you can grow. Great post for those new to Steemit.

I think it may scare some people because they think they might run out of things to write about if they niche down, but it can be broken down in so many ways. Thanks for stopping by!

So true. That's why I knew I wanted to connect with you the first time we "met" on here. I really appreciate your perspective and the care you put into sharing it with everyone. Your comments are also very thoughtful and contribute to the conversation, which is another part of the "quality over quantity" idea. Thanks for pointing this out to everyone.

Thank you for recognizing that. I really do want to be engaging in an authentic way all around. I feel the same about you and I really appreciate what you are doing in the Spiritual Steemit Success Circle. It's an amazing resource and I have a feeling it's only going to get better. I can tell you are all about quality.

I hope you're having a great day! :)

100 engaged followers are better than thousands of followers who don't give a damn about what you are trying to convey. To get their attention, the key is on the quality of your work. It takes time to create quality content but it is surely worth it. You will be able to get the attention of people who are not even in your same niche as long as it is fruitful and valuable and that is the reason why I am here, to get as much of meaningful knowledge and to share the same. Spot on!!! @gavinci13

Hey hey hey @jaynie what's up? :)

hehehe Hi :) Great thanks... how are you doing?

I'm doing okay thank you for asking. If I visit you, will you cook for me? :)

hehehe with PLEASURE!!!! ;)

Wow! Great! Okay I will one of these days. Nice to meet you @jaynie

Very well said! Thanks for reading and I wish you success here :)

@tressareid Thank you I hope so too :) however, I still need to do a lot of learning tho. I really like the appearance of your articles. It is so enticing and looks easy in the eyes of the readers, I wish I can get to that level soon. Looks like I need to learn HTML coding too and improve my strategy on how I construct the pattern of my work. Anyway, Thank you again.

It is a learning process for sure. I was oblivious of how to format my posts coming here. I committed myself to learning a new markdown method each post or two, now I find I'm using more and more of the features. I still don't know how to do everything, but I'm gradually learning.

Strive for progress not perfection. As long as we are doing the best we can and are open to learning, we will always move forward. :)

Yep I just learned how use ginabot and discord today. Sounds like a plan thank you @tressareid

You got a micro upvote from me 😎

Thank you !

Well said. I follow you because you are so authentic and that can be rare.

Thank you for sharing that, it's nice to hear, because it's definitely my intention to keep it real :)

Excellently put @tressareid! There is WAY too much "quantity" here on the Steemit platform so adding to that, is not a good idea at all! It makes a whole lot more sense to make a LARGER impact, with LESS!

Very useful post to many noobs on the platform - AS WELL as some of the more seasoned members of the platform!

I agree there is too much quantity with the intention of quantity. Some will learn the hard way. Thanks for reading!
Followed you :)

The hard way is generally the BEST way to learn! :)

Well said, dear. Quality content should be what we strive for, and for us to be able to put up quality content, we have to be passionate about what we write.

YES, the passion has to be there for sure, great point!

Couldn't have said any better. That's have been a problem for me. I want to keep up a daily posting routine but I get discouraged because I think my posts are not great enough.

I just checked out your page, (and followed you)It's looks like you're doing just fine. I see you're only 16, you really should not get discouraged. I sense you're on a mission to succeed and believing you can, is half the struggle.

Sometimes it's hard to come up with content for daily posts. I try to use the little things/topics, lessons and observations that I come across each day to help inspire the ideas.

Remember, practise makes perfect, you're so young, and you have plenty of time to master it. We are all learning, there's every level of content creators here, it's better than not writing at all! I'd say you've got a great head start :)

Thanks for the amazing reply :) Yeah, I think so. The problem is I have a big vision but my progress is still slow. As you say, I have a lot of time so I have to put it together. That's so true. Knowledge and experiences are worth more than anything, especially in Steemit. I also think that that's why they say“The education of a man is never completed until he dies''. Yeah, we have to try again and again because whether we gain or make mistakes, it will surely add a value to our life. I appreciate your encouraging words, followed you to get more of it ;)

I think the commitment of being a forever student will serve us throughout our lives. Allowing things to unfold in divine timing, vs trying to push it and force things is also a better approach.

Your big vision will will someday be your reality, just keep taking small inspired action that reflects your end goals. I wish you success!

Thank you for following, I plan to put out many more posts in hopes to raise people up and really help people move forward.

"Sometimes your circle decrease s in size but increases in value." That's quite interesting. Cheers. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Spot on @tressareid! I think a lot of people also lose sight of the fact that it's logistically impossible to actually keep up with 1000 people's content. If you can sincerely follow 100 people's work daily... then you're doing an amazing job.

Now if we reverse that, if we want to be sincerely followed and read our contributions must be in the top 100 of someone who follows 1000+ people. So quality and standing out comes to mind. Especially if you work at something that plays to an audience, like blogging and writing.

In the end, it's better to be "all that" to a small group of people than "more of the above" to the masses.

=^..^=

Great point made about keeping up with that many people's content, very true. And also a great way of putting striving to be the "Top 100", that is exactly what our goal should be.

Thank you for reading and for contributing to this topic!

Totally get what you mean.
I couldn't post for few days sometimes because I can't produce a "beneficial" write up to the community. Thanks for this quality reminder to us all!

Sometimes we have to wait to be in the flow to produce good content. Somedays we just don't have it, and thats ok. Thanks for stopping by :)

Very true, I had my flow this two days and started to write again, lol
Followed you :)

Well said. Very detailed and makes sense 100%. No one wants to read garbage :)

Thanks for reading! :)

I’m agree and also I will post content about “my things” the best I can but without too much expectation. Also commenting on others amazing content... but time is “gold” and limited so I should choose wisely.

Great and honest post. Thanks for keep bringing this content.

I think you're going to do great. You have a positive attitude and that is super important :) Thanks @dubbylabby

Yes! Quality over quantity always! And alignment over marketing to everyone! If you're marketing to everyone, you're marketing to no one!

Absolutely!

You are spot on and I agree wholeheartedly. I am new on this platform and can see how quantity can easily take over. Thank you for the tip.

You are very welcome, I wish you success!
