RE: Join me in flagging all *-trail accounts run by @instructor2121 and his scheme team!

I have no idea how these trails work
anyone enlighten me?

Do they ask for permission from certain high quality authors to collect all their work into a single post and then share some of the rewards??

Sort:

As far as I know, having been featured before by @photo-trail, is that the only reward I got was the one time upvote from @photo-trail.

As someone who wakes up at 3AM to head out and take photographs to share exclusively with the Steemit community, yeah I feel this is #rewardpoolrape.

The trail accounts go through and find posts related to whatever the trail is and feature them in a single post. The trail votes on them but the trail post itself generally earns 10, 20, 30x the amount that the actual posts earn. The trail does not share the rewards with the authors it features.

seems unfair, do the trails at least require the authors permission?

Some do, some don't apparently.

Honestly this is problematic
I hadn't supported them for the same reason and went around asking how it works and how the rewards are split but got pretty inconsistent/vague responses
I'm not really interested in flagging people unless they're blatant scamming (not giving rewards out if they claim to) or plagiarizing etc, but you've certainly made me more reluctant to vote for any trail
