RE: Condenser (Steemit.com) GitHub Development Report - 2017-07-22

in #steemit7 years ago

This post focused on the condenser (Steemit.com) side of things. They are working on changes to the signup process, but those are dependent on the blockchain hardfork 20. You can read more about that on the @steemitblog page. It's a bit technical, but it will at least show that it is a priority :)

Sort:

Better signup process is not dependent on the next hardfork. It could be made a lot easier by other means, too, like selling accounts.

You can already buy an account today using SteemConnect. The price is 6 STEEM.

That doesn't help much new users. They don't have an account, so they can't pay with steem.

There is also AnonSteem.

Yeah, but it's not used to make the signup process better by telling it is an option.

My point is that there is no need for HF20 to make the signup process better. No need for hardforks, everything that is needed already exists.

The vast majority of signups (for now at least) are going to be from users creating accounts via the Steemit.com signup process. Optimizing that is a priority for the dev team.

Thanks Tim, too new here, great info!
