A reason why is because comments that aren't upvoted are put at the bottom, making them harder to see. I'll upvote mine when I say something that I want to be seen.

the content of his post should be related to his reward, and i don't think his post covering technical analysis is worth 300, since technical analysis is not quite reliable it will only loses money from the innocent investors, but it's too late to kill a grown up baby monster.

Extremely high actually. Weather can be predicted. These markets cannot. If a single Tweet from some one famous could make or break the price of a currency there is no way to know what will happen with the market. And even so he is wrong most of the time...

I guess that you could say @haejin is "5.9%" generous. On a scale of 1 -100, where most people give away a much higher percentage of upvotes, I think this situation is not good for SteemIt and not in the spirit of the platform. This level of self-interest is borderline narcissism.
Considering that haejin has fully exploited & leveraged just about every single thing on the SteemIt platform that he possibly can, I think it's safe to say that he's not a Whale - he is a megalodon.
Just to be honest, he is the one who is in the focus right now, but i believe that enough other people do this on a way lower level. I still think, that self voting should be limited somehow, maybe by percentage or disabling it at certain steem power numbers.
I think the best thing to do is something along the lines of a cap on self upvotes. Or, link the ability to self-upvote with how much you curate and upvote other people's posts. A 50/50 split would create more of a win/win situation. You can only grow as much as you help other people to grow. This would, at the very least, create many symbiotic relationships where people can only do their best by working with other people. However, duplicate accounts would have to be identified to prevent abuse. I don't know if that can be done.

Ummm ... I love how the majority of the comments (so far, at 1 hour in) thinks this is a good thing. I guess it proves your point :D the end is near. And everyone is running off the edge of the cliff full “steem” ahead.
Haejin is now always the number 1 self upvoter - as noted on Steem Ocean. So basically, he is free to continue to remain at the top position without being downvoted - unless someone else rises to the challenge of buying enough steem to sit and upvote themselves enough to get their rep up higher than his and then to downvote him. Since the ability to gain ever more SP through self voting is an ever increasing spiral of 'growth' - I think I am right in saying that if nothing is done to remedy this, eventually he would be taking the entire reward pool.. more or less!
Clearly this is a system fault and needs to be addressed. Maybe a cap needs to be in place on earnings as a percentage of the total rewards pool?

Reputation is based partly on the power of those upvoting you - so as long as haejin keeps getting upvoted, his reputation will soar.

Currently we have a situation where 2 top reputation accounts has been accused for serious pool-rape. I think this is clear indication, that reputation system has to be re-implemented.

Really? So if I understand this correctly, you can affect someone's rep in these ways:
Increase: When your rep is higher - yes, when your rep is lower - yes
Decrease: When your rep is higher - yes, when your rep is lower - no
Is that right? That seems really flawed.
Anyone can increase rep, even your own votes. It's all purely Steem Power-based. The more Steem Power and weight behind a vote, the more your rep goes up.
Flags are exactly the same way, but there is a gate check if you have more rep, you're allowed to follow the rules above, otherwise no change.
So that basically makes the highest rep person untouchable, until someone else managed to catch up, which takes a considerable amount of rep collecting at that point.
Though I think in this case, bad word of mouth rep does a lot too. But heck, as long as you have a rich backer (or extra account) supporting you, your Steemit rep doesn't matter much anyway.
Rep is virtually meaningless but sets the stage for outside viewing in.

Reputation is changed only by upvotes and downvotes. The bigger they are, the more they affect the reputation. @Haejin has over one million SP to use for himself, so only a person with more SP than that can affect his reputation, which means that nobody can do that.

We might as well rename Steemit to Haejinit because this platform is being raped and pillaged by Haejin so hard, it's going down the toilet. I would not have a problem with Haejin at all if:
a) He contributed back to the Steemit platform
b) Actually shared his wealth around
c) Didn't continually rape the rewards pool
d) His TA was actually good. Many of Haejin's calls are wrong and I think some of his TA is stolen from other people on TradingView anyway.
Haejin really highlights the problems with Steemit and there is no disputing the facts that something needs to change or this whole platform is just going to die. Even in death Haejin will find a way to rape the corpse of further rewards, I am sure.

Hey @themarkymark, what if we added a secondary metric to the reputation score? I toyed around with the idea of a color chart (below) which could be used to get a better assessment of what that user has contributed.
Ultimately, I think reputation scores should showcase flag history, just as they showcase upvote history -

I like the idea, but flags are a bad metric. I've had almost 1000 flags in the last week because I fight spam.
I see what you're saying. Well, this might be complicated - but - what if the age of the account was taken into consideration? Flags from older users (ideally ones with a healthier understanding of this community) carry greater weight when it comes to color.
This way it wouldn't be so 1-to-1 when it comes to flags or even steem stake, but more based on longevity within the community.
That would help, but many flags are malicious. You also have situations where accounts have been hacked and flagged a lot, yet recover and then go back to normal. Then you have the fact spammers are rarely flagged as no one wants to waste their stake cleaning the community.
cleaning that does nothing, it's really strange the rep is the only social thing here :D everything else is about money, humm so is rep :D

good idea but it would never work, well I think it can't because for it to work it has to be a complex equation/ function and nothing complex works for most people, you could aggregate responces, rep of voters and general activity then do some magic(math) and get some wonder looking result, I remember a while back there was a person who was rating posts in the # based on the rep of the voters, that was a great way to show quality and engagement rather than just who's trendy andd who's whale riding ...
steemit is fundamentally flawed. we are throwing rocks at each other but we are no different. All trying to make a buck in a flawed system. If Steemit is to outlast the likes of U Network and other blockchain social media that are gunning for Steemit, it needs fundamental changes. First of all, it needs 2FA for better security. Then get rid of bots.

No, Haejin used to take 5+ of the top trending spots all the time until they stopped voting immediately and waited longer. There are groups like Adsactly that don't need bots.

Actually I believe that no one ever had that power, since he is using rancho which basically gave him a lot of SP to use. I understand the idea that everybody is able to do what he wants with his stake, but currently this is an example of Steem becoming centralized around a single man, which is breaking the philosophy of blockchain. I wonded... can anybody do anything about it now?
Under current system its just a massive up hill battle. Linear-rewards system needs to go. To be replaced by what and how to make it happen I don't have slightest idea.
Logarithmic rewards maybe :) Well,I don't know if the problem is at how the blockchain is designed of if it just the greed of people which speaks. I guess we should change the people and how they act as a community, not the way the blockchain is designed in order to prevent abusers from manifesting their greed.
