This will be very simple and disorganized post but it will be helpful, even very helpful!
Most times, it more about how much we see/can see than all the looking/searching
Even when you are given the INTEL, how much can you accomplish with it?
This is mostly a simple post to help open the eyes a bit more because again, it is about how much we can see, thus, to help us see just a bit more, i will keep this post disorganized a bit and we will skip the theories, so that we can try to apply more of foresight.
Here is what i want to quickly say:
The masses are coming! Not whitewalkers; not winter!
Looking at simple events that are going on on steemit, are about to go on and steemit and events going on outside of steemit and especially, considering that we are still at the early stages of steemit's mainstreamity there is glaring evidence that the masses are coming!
People are taking note of steemit.
The constant awareness we have gradually create on here by means of our steemit posts and on social media etc is leaving lingering marks and over time, people are beginning to establish within their minds that steemit isn't a hype and they will flock in.
Unlike other crypto-endeavors and blockchain, steemit has use-case and value even by virtue of its social community alone. There are tons of apps being developed on the steem blockchain too and overtime, beyond all the earning etc, people will need a decentralized app built on steem for serve their daily needs. (Note: people use Facebook, Youtube, Twitter etc even without the possibility of earning).
So unlike any other crypto-blockchain endeavor out there, scale-able free-to-use steem will get heard either via steemit @dtube @utopian or an upcoming IOS flappy monkey game app etc
Well, the masses are already flocking in. This time, they are asking to join in. It's all obvious on Facebook etc
Yes and people who try to sign up on steemit and experience delays are bothered about it as they are eager to become steemians.
Simple images like this below, now have way more impact than they once had and stirs so much more talk than used to be the case and even eventual sign ups. Look below:
Just yesterday alone, the image or thumbnail above generated hundreds of comments about steemit and several (new) have signed up or are waiting for the accounts to be confirmed, courtesy of these conversations.
There used to be a community-like social network called TSU that came to a halt and we were all once there!
Hahaha and some haven't joined steemit but they are following "steemit" closely to see where it is headed. See this screenshot below:
In the #philippines for instance, steemit is growing really fast. I sit on the tags curating each day and the numbers are drastically increasing.
Just recently, a new member joined from the Philippines that has close to 300k followers across her social media network. See below:
I tried to tell her to do a selfie-verification as she has these many followers, to which she obliged to and she is here.
So please join in, in welcoming her!
What am i saying?
Especially at these early stages of your journey on steemit (if you are new), your sole first aim should be to power up! See, SP (Steem Power) is getting scarce, can't you already feel it?
What i am saying is this, once recently, steem was around priced at 1 USD (US dollar), meaning that you can have got or bought "500 steem power" for "500 US dollars".
Today, you will need around 3500 USD to buy 500 steem power and if steem becomes priced at 100 USD in the near future, you will need 50,000 USD to buy 500 SP.
Steem Power is actually powerful and there is great incentive to have it:
- e.g imagine how much good you can do if you can give out 2 USD to 10 or more people everyday
- Imagine how many more people every day will seek or value your own attention
- Imagine how much more visibility you will get on your creation
- Imagine how many services you can pay for/buy directly by means of steem power
- etc............
Alot of the "missing piece of the puzzle" when it comes to steemit success is in steemit's history. So, when you arrive on steemit, do you go back a bit to research this history or pace things enough to experience it?
See; just months ago, steem was priced at around 1 USD! i.e with 500 SP (at 100 percent upvote), you would have been able to reward a post around 0.09$ but today at 6 USD per steem, the same 500 SP (at 100 percent upvote) rewards 0.25$
(Note: that 0.25$ and 0.09$ above is not USD but is a valued at the current price of steem and SBD)
Now without going into much Mathematics and theory it is possible to say that, if the price of steem reaches say 100 USD each, this same 500 SP, maybe able to give out around $1 or $2 (at 100 percent upvote)
SP (Steem Power) is where i see the real scarcity happening and it is a beauty! Once people fully realize the beauty of SP, they will so buy into it.
Imagine a company that normally spends 5,000,000 USD a year in AD(s) budget that isn't that organic and can easily constitute of only impressions and clicks (not sales/conversions) and instead of putting all that budget into AD(s), they come here on steemit, a community of reputable great minds and where the masses are beginning to flock to and they buy SP power instead, these are some of the gains:
- SP is still their money and rises with the price of steem e.g if rises from 1 USD to 10 USD, 5 million can have turned to 50 million
- Their SP increases overtime just for holding it
- They get visibility, when they upvote their posts and organic visibility in the search engines
- They can use earnings from the same SP to foot conventional AD budgets
- Amass followers in line with the influence SP carries
- Have a ton of audience ready-made and potential partners, investors, customers, clients etc
- They can distribute rewards, pay for services, delegate tasks using their SP to distribute rewards
- etc
The thing is, if you don't gather SP now, when will you gather it? When steem is 10$?
Hahaha, SP is getting scarce; can't you see?
See, steem tokens is not money, so vest it in Steem Power and keep it. Instead of rush to spend it, why not build SP till an extent and your SP can make you additional income on its own and give you additional influence as well as you use it to distribute rewards.
When the community is large enough, say millions, you may not even have to go out of steem into FIAT to purchase goods and service.
Steem is a protocol that allows the creation of apps too. With thousands of apps for every use-case and a community of millions of people, steem can easily become our medium of exchange e.g pay for a vacation with steem because there are now so many apps accepting steem or external websites with steem integrations etc
Apart from this, many new accounts want to vote on steemit at different percentages, to maximize voting power, so why not gather your first 500/1000 SP. Now, it is harder to gather this amount of steem even from author rewards because the price of steem is currently priced at above 6 USD but now is still a very good time to because Steemit's Mainstreamity is in its early stages
e.g Look here:
The eventual payout for the post above was around $21 and he wondered why he got only 3.62 SP.
See; when steem was around 1 USD, he would have easily got a whooping 21 SP from that payout but now at more than 6 USD per steem, he got just 3.62 SP and with steem at 21 USD, he would get only 1 SP for the large-looking $21 (I don't have the right $ symbol on my PC, so i use USD to refer to the US dollar)
Too, many new steemians bother about the "you have exceeded bandwidth" message. They feel this is an issue with steemit. However, this is a measure by steem to prevent or reduce on possible DDOS attacks e.g when a person creates many bot accounts and program them to carry out endless blockchain transactions to weigh it down.
Thus, new accounts need to have a measure SP to keep interacting with the blockchain removing the incentive for DDOS attacks.
So if you are just joining steemit, your first sole drive should be to raise your steem power because you know what "there was life before steemit".
The day and two days before you joined steemit, you ate and paid bills and if you didn't find steemit the next one month later, you will have paid bills and eaten. This is a valid illusion!
This is coming from someone who has done suffering like crazy, who has starved and still starves like crazy.
50/50 Vs 100 percent powered up posts
At this point, to gather more steem, it is best to go 50/50 (post payout option) as this way, you can get way more steem.
SBD was created to be pegged to the USD but is currently not, so choosing the 50/50 payout option will allow half of your author rewards or so, to be paid in SBD and with SBD currently priced at around 8 USD, you can use that to buy steem on the internal market to power up with, thus, getting way more steem than you would currently make if you had powered up straight-up
Powering up also removes liquid steem from circulation, making it scarce and has impact on steem-price-rise.
So for minnows who just join, it is a special feeling to receive your first payout from the Internet but i tell you, the most utmost value from the first cash out is not even in what you could buy with it. The utmost value according me. is the continuous inspiration we draw from it to keep keeping on.

I’ll use myself as an example here! Last months earnings I powered up ( all off then) . Back then my 100%upvote was 0.01 cents.
After the month passed... i had gathered 350 SP. last week Steem got to $6 . Now my account is worth $2.200 dollars because of it. Also, my upvote is now worth 0.20 cents!
I know it can be pretty temping to cash out .. and sometimes we “have to”. But we really shouldn’t.. because the best is yet to come!

Steem needs to get a co operative best seller. There’s a hurry. And there’s plenty of talent if it just got organized. Your followers alone probably have the equivalent of dozens and dozens of visionary minds. And if it’s about money, the greatest way to access those insane resources to DO GOOD, while doing well, is by taking the steps necsssary to more popular adoption.
Consumers of the content are incredibly necessary though. Hopefully we can talk soon.

I appears that we think alike. Today I put up a post that talked about how the Steem blockchain is in the lead over all other blockchains and could increase that lead if the development on here is large enough.
Steem has no transaction fees....none.
ETH and BTC are both not only bogged down with traffic but ill suited for microprossing since there are such high transaction fees. That .25 reward could not even be sent on either of those networks since the cost for the transaction is more. Here on steem, we can send .001 STEEM without a problem.
I love how you tied it all together....this is an absolute goldmine. You must have read a couple of my posts since I preached $100 STEEM since $.85 in early November. This is going to get a lot bigger very quickly.
By the way, I dont know if you saw the numbers, 60K daily active users yesterday with 30K authors. Things are really starting to heat up around here even without an automated sign up process, communities, HD 20, or SMTs....imagine what it will be like when they do hit my friend....OMG.
Keep up the good work...together we are all going to change the world. Poverty is going to be wiped out...we will make sure of it.

THIS! I've been saying this to people for months and months now. Here in steem to minnows to save their sp and not hurriedly convert it to cash.. as well as outside to friends and family. Sadly not everyone is that open minded but its their loss not ours. I'm at a place that i'm happy with my steem power but wpuld be happy to get more. I'm more interested it helping my friends and family grow their account.

The masses are definitely coming. Unlike a lot of other cryptos which might only have whitepapers, Steem has actual usage right now. As more applications such as Dtube, Zappl, Dmania, etc. are created, Steem will just become even more popular. What's the issue? I'll try to help if I can. If there bandwidth issues with Steem, they just tend to be temporary issues that go away quickly with time. As stated in the post above, the exceeded bandwidth message is a measure to help prevent DDOS attacks.

I haven't seen the message related to powering up. I have seen the message about bandwidth limits. I believe that it's just a temporary issue related to protecting Steem users from DDOS attacks.
You will need to wait for it to recover a bit. You can check your bandwidth on https://steemd.com/@bornprince on the left side. If it is on a negative, it will recover after sometime. If you have some liquid steem you can power it up too. You can reserve transactions for now to posts for now till you grow some steem power

Nope dont powerup. That comes later. 50/50 is great then you can buy sp and power up or if sbd goes up and steem stays down, buy more steem when that happens to get more sp. If you power up 100 percent, you will lose out on so much sp cos sbd is currently higher than 1 dollar. So it is better to get half your pay in sbd

Not exactly can it be said to be wrong. You can cash out but i think it is best to let the essence of cashing out be inspiration to be fireup more. Cashing out at this point should be to that effect. The thing is this, if you powered up, you will still make cash from the dividend of sp but that will be like you fishing now, you will make dividend and help others, this will result in more dividend and you will have a capital that yours still and has grown in value. It is crystal clear now that building up SP is good in the long run and advisable. That was what i was told at first too by @tojukaka. I used my first accumulated SBD then to buy Steem which i converted to power up. I wish i got more. I will have to invest more in that from now on.

I believe this to be true in general from word of mouth. I have got at least a dozen of new users on here in the past couple weeks, as they warmed up to the idea. Then every time the price jumps a ton of crypto users take notice.
So many have BTC, when they get tired of that investment not showing gains I believe they will put it into Steemit to maximize there returns with crypto.

I'm not here to measure one account's good deeds vs anothers, or bad deeds vs bad deeds. Taking $200 for a post for anyone seems a bit excessive, no matter who they are.

Look at trending and see what gets paid way more, that doesn’t remotely get spread around to our ground floor. 1% of us are whales, but half are poor AF, and if no one with power spreads any cheddar, things aren’t gonna get any better.

You should check that number of "a few thousand cents". @paulag has done a few analyses on how much @surpassinggoogle has taken from his SP delegations in the past. This wasnt a simple question to me like you put it, else you would have waited for me to answer before putting so many comments in the comments section talking to others about me based on very limited information. You know very little about me and what i do and if you do, please state that too and if you think i am bad or not-so-good, you can sift the not-so-good to find good in it. Speaking of analogies like "If a police officer saved 10,000 innocent lives, then intentially killed 10 innocent lives" etc to others here; you would have spoken that to me or waited to speak it to me, if your question here was a simple question to me. I am not triggered though as my answer here is because i choose to answer you. I have done so much life to be shaken by simple events and i have been on steemit long enough and know too much of history here to be upset at moments like this. As for the conversions into usd value, it doesnt work that way, even in real life. It is like going to different countries and not wanting to purchase anything cos one wants to calculate and do conversions to the new currency each time and compare it to what it would have been in his currency. There are bigger things than that.
i have roles to play here long term and i know the communities i cater to here and you may know that i was delegated power but do you know why as well? "No", cos most of the value on steemit is created behind the scenes etc and not everyone does posts or updates on what they do. Too, not every information is known to everyone and not information is given to everyone.
I know how many times i have posted within a month and i know what i am doing. I know of the reward pool and especially the SP tokens, not the usd value.
There is transparency on steemit but there should also be respect, so it should not be expected that i have to air everything i do to answer to everyone. Though, it is transparent, i will not come to you and even question the value of your post let alone your contributions cos isnt it priceless plus, i certainly wont measure earnings on your post by dollar value becos we use steem tokens here and what if steem tokens are 5000usd tomorrow. Then in usd perhaps even liners will earn 50 usd each in payout, so, will go questioning each one and when steem was 7 cents, ofcourse the post value may be at 20 usd, did we question it then. Overall, i can never truly know your motives and who am i to question it, when you are adult like me and will i do it real life, if you where physically next to me? I so wont. Cos i will sift even the not-so-good to find good in it, for if the creator heartily looks for our faults, who will stand. We are mere dust and there a bigger things in life.
in my case, it doesnt work that way. I have a responsibility here and while you may look at dollar value, i look at my responsibility and especially with regards to many others and the steem power required to accomplish this down the road and now. Yes, steem is 6 usd but how about steem power. I have been here when steem was 0.07, so why hurriedly do conversions. it doesnt work that way. If steem becomes 1000 usd, even a simple 1 percent vote on a simple comment will give out perhaps $50 on it, will you start questioning the value of each of these comments? The answer is no. Becos, ofcourse in the long term, what if steem goes down too. I have never powered down and i was here even when it was 7 cents so please look at history as well not just now because alot of history's involved here and speaking of taking, you never fully know that because you have very limited data. Do you know how much is used for steem behind the scenes? How about sponsored steem meetups etc how about a full rpc node 256 gb, how about the steemgigs interface being developed and the server its staging is running on, how about surpassinggoogle.com (and the server for it) to fix content discovery and curation (app) and my witness servers or my last contest that had 900 post entries and 5k plus comments and delegation of roles and contribution to leaders of projects and my roles as witness, did you also know all this? I have a role here and it is long term and down the road my steem power will be essential and becos of this responsibility, it more about this than any dollar value, for whether it is 7 cents or 6 dollars i am here. Steemit is not only about steemit and content creation for there is also steem and much of the value created behind the scenes rewarded on the scenes in simple-looking post.
I now answer to perhaps 3000 or more steemians, with the steemgigs community alone constituting of going to 2000 steemians and entire nations and the masses from these nations are coming. And i know how many times i post a month for the sole reason of letting others earn. I dont post each day for this sole reason and many times i dont post in 3 to 5 days except for reasons that very much involve scenes in the background. Many times my posts are "in the role of community leader" to fix things in the background. Would you have know how many discussions before this post that prompted this post today and how many groups i have spoken in and how many chats and fone calls i have been in before this post? Steemit doesnt provide us with those date.
When i dont spend 5 mins of rest a day cos in the chats too many people need hours of talk from me, i care much about these people that i am break myself. My mum just died recently after not seeing here for 5 years and i saw her for just 16 days only for her to die and i just buried her and i break myself to help even hours in the chats and when i am too broken, i do a post so i can reach out to many.
This is a role of responsibility and my post even with its reward is a reflection of much except one of responsibilty becos i know where i am headed with this and perhaps many know this too but i dont need to say a history of what i do here because i am not one to annoucne it for those who know know and those who choose to look more closely too. I've seen the work you do and the effort that you put into Steemit. It's extraordinary.
With all of the controversy around Steemit about reward pool concerns, I was stating that a 100% upvote (with 80% voting power?) for yourself doesn't give off a positive perception, especially when you have so much delegated SP.
If I wanted, I could find who is delegating the SP to you and for how much and possibly find a post where they describe why they're doing it. But that doesn't accomplish anything. The gesture of delegating you the SP tells me that people value the efforts that you are doing and want to help you with them.
My examples.. Well, yeah, they needed to be extreme because I was getting responses from people other than you about something that they could not control or know the answer to. They aren't you, so they can't answer the original question. Oh, and they were jumping on me like I just punched a child, simply because I did something as simple as asking a question. That's unacceptable to me, and I decided to give them some life lessons that they apparently were lacking.
That's the thing, I don't see you as a culprit. I was just asking for more information. And the comments that I received were not as courteous as the message that you sent. So I responded with less courtesy. Respect is not simply given, it is earned. Your tone (consistently) has earned a respectful response from me.
I'm not going to say what your post should be worth or how much you should be taking from the rewards pool. My humble suggestion would simply be to take smaller amounts more frequently. It looks better "perception-wise" than taking $200 in one shot. And considering the real world "Fiat" value is something that all of us should consider, especially with a rising value of Steem/SBD. It's an important time to keep track of that type of value.

Yes i understand. My posts have a responsibility to it and many times are triggered by events for the most part and except i decline payment, it requires visibility as well. Apart from rewards on posts there is so also visibility which is very important in this case. As for smaller votes, i don't post several times and i don't post daily and if you look at my posts, they are for specific reasons and for many reasons behind the scenes. Posting for me at this point is more of a responsibilty than rewards. My comment section shows this as well.
My point as regards the reason behind the delegation is "many things happen behind the scenes". It was by Ned too, so there was no post about it. And the communities and nations i cater to is large. Ofcourse, this is a community and my ways can't please everyone. I do hundreds of comments as well; i dont vote these except in very few cases when it is essential etc When you say take you should emphasize the give just as equally. My interface the will be on surpassinggoogle.com to fix content curation and discovery is a give and there are many gives. Now the steem is 6 usd, i didnt increase post frequency and nothing has changed with me. I maintain my responsibility as i have been since minnow and if steem goes to 100 usd, i will be this same Terry, so its not about rewards for me. (not sure if that's really the right word), when they could simply have a conversation with the person they're complaining about first. At no point have I intended on, or considered doing that for this post. I posted on here to speak with you "one-on-one", and discuss your intentions.
In any case, I'm not going to "report" this post. Nor do I believe that your post deserves any "flags" or to be reported in any negative way. You're doing a great service to many communities.
Let me discuss why I agree with this statement. You are responsible to the community to provide clear, clean, organized, and useful posts that will benefit the community. While potentially useful, this post has none of the other attributes.
To quote a cheesy comic book: "With great power comes great responsibility".
The way I see this post, and why I originally commented, is because it is not exactly organized (which you did admit at the beginning of your post), and not exactly a "valuable" post. I have been on Steemit for 7 months and have seen posts like this literally hundreds, if not thousands, of times. As such, a value of $200+ from a self-upvote looked suspicious and suspect to me. I would say this about ANY account with a post having these attributes; I am in no way trying to single you out.
Here's my suggestion: No matter how busy you are with comments and voting and re-steeming community members, you still have the responsibility to share a message in a directed and organized manner. You've been on here for a long time, and that's amazing. I do honestly believe that you're not here for the rewards. You work way too hard for that to be true.
But for the people who are here for rewards ... which there are many ... if they read your post and see all of the disjointed information and screenshots and poor structure.. then they look at the post payout of $200+ .. they may get the idea that "Steemit is EASY MONEY. All I need to do is post like @surpassinggoogle does and BOOM, I'll be a MILLIONAIRE!" ... and that's the last thing that we (Loyal Steemians) need.
Again, you're doing amazing things for many communities. I don't think that anyone can deny that. I would just ask that you take a little extra time to present yourself, and the communities that you're representing, with a more deliberate and organized message.
Please take this as constructive criticism, and not as a hateful message. My intent is solely to assist you. I am not trying to discourage or put you down in any way.

I know the tone in which i speak and the communities i cater to and these they may not look concise contain info about life underlying "no books" involved and that"s what i am about, so no worries. My posts are deliberate and organized and the essence of my statement about is to instill "read between the lines and what's underlying" and this has been my tone since day one and where my voice lies. Not everyone will value this style but when friends come to ask "how do i become like you" my answer to them is, "to be like me, you will have to stubbornly be the awesomest version of you". That is a great post! Steemit is definitely going to be very huge in terms of popularity and now is the best time to gather as much steem power as possible while it's still not too expensive! The price can definitely be 100$ in the future, so we are still the early birds here. I'd say there's no better time to be on steemit than now!
