The website steemdollar.com claims to show a SteemIt user's upvote value. This may seem to be a very useful tool, BUT only if it gave you the correct values. A few of my buddies and I (shoutouts to @cryptohustlin and @desmonid, follow them) realized that the values were way off. A post that one of our group members (@cryptocameo) had posted was upvoted by the one and only @berniesanders ! So here's the proof.
As you can see circled in red the post has $360 in value. Now let me show you the contributions.
Are you looking at what I'm looking at? Yes, that is a 95% weight. You do not need to be the smartest person on earth to figure out that $81 is not 95% of $360. For those that want an exact number, $342 is 95% of $360. Steemdollar.com was off by a good $261! Fix your algorithm!
Votes compound, but I don't think they'd compound enough to make that much of a difference.
Oh cool, I am the example in this article :P
Certainly gets my +1 that site does look way off
Yes you are lol
Thanks for the shout out :]

No problem :)
Great job taking the initiative to write this article supr!!
I remember we discussed this in minnows chat, but you've taken the initiative to take it to steemit with nice screenshots as evidence.
Thank you Des!
Doesn't matter as long as the whales get fat from your investment...
It matter's when you look at your own upvote value. You don't want to be misinformed do you?
Good!
Thank you!
