Thanks for putting the issue in such sharp focus, man. I've always been really irritated by what seemed to be brown-nosing and sucking up to the site itself. I appreciate the comparison to facebook and twitter. It really helps me understand the Steemit glorification a lot better, and makes it feel like less of a sell out to read or upvote posts about how great Steemit is.
