LSD, Acid, microdosing - all you ever wanted to know

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

Ever wonder why there are so many angry posts like "Steemit is useless"," I quit Steemit","I have no tits, so I get no money..." etc.? I think people should get their values straight. This is not a place to earn a living (at least for us Minnows and Dolphins). People should relax and take it easy. If it's too hard to do, I'd recommend some LSD/acid Microdosing :)

What's that?! You've never heard of it!

Let's get right into it!

First things first...

(Some yummy Steemit tabs :P)

What is LSD?

LSD - Lysergic acid diethylamide (abbreviated LSD-25 and also known as lysergide, acid or Lucy) is a semisynthetic hallucinogenic psychedelic drug of the lysergamide family.

LSD was first synthesized by Albert Hofmann in 1938 from ergotamine, a chemical derived from ergot (a grain fungus that typically grows on rye).

LSD is sensitive to oxygen, ultraviolet light, and chlorine (especially in solution). Its potency may last for years if it is stored away from light and moisture at cold temperatures around 0°C or below, but will slowly degrade at normal room temperature (25°C). In one study, there was a 10% loss of potency after LSD was stored at room temperature for one month. However, there are also many anecdotal reports from users who have successfully stored LSD at room temperature for years which contradict the findings of this study. (Wiki)

What does it do?

From my own experience, LSD is a powerful stimulating drug which produces a strong ’body high’ which intensity depends upon the dosage. LSD is very energising in a pleasant way. Upon taking LSD one is more prone to take part in physical activities, all tactile senses are enhanced and an intense feeling of pure positivity or euphoria is present most of the time. When weed makes you relax and laugh more, LSD makes you euphoric and happy about life.

It comes with various visual effects from which the most common for me are:

  • the kaleidoscope effect

  • drifting - everything starts to live

  • tracers

  • visual acuity enhancement

  • magnification

  • recursions

As a side effect high doses of LSD can make you really slow at thinking and talking to others (at least that what you feel it’s like). It gets hard to concentrate or even remember the subject at hand, because the world in itself is way more interesting to observe. I’ve also observed that although thoughts can get slower and tend to repeat, time passes extremely slow and it’s common to get surprised when walking down a road and suddenly realize that this epic and long journey which your mind created was actually just a 1 minute walk.

Here’s PsychedSubstances excellent take on LSD:

Using with weed

I do LSD only with some beer or only LSD. Once I tried LSD with weed and it resulted in a semi- bad trip. All went well at first, but I noticed that I was getting more and more paranoid until I thought the whole world is plotting something against. I looked at my friends and thought they talked shit about me and laughed at me, but thankfully I knew already what was going on. I had a bad trip. So I didn’t freak out although the terror I felt was intense. I started walking with my friends and cleared my mind until I got the crazy thoughts out of my mind. All was well after that.

Everyone has a different trip and no trip is quite the same, so don’t think all what I wrote will happen to you too. That’s what makes LSD so interesting.

Worth a watch, really funny :D

Myths around LSD

1. LSD is harmful for your and other near you

20 Drugs Ranked by "Harm to Users" and "Harm to Others"

20 Drugs Ranked by Overall Harm along 16 Criteria

According to a 2010 study in the UK:

The study concluded that alcohol was the most harmful drug overall (72 out of 100), followed by heroin (55 out of 100), and crack cocaine (54 out of 100). The most harmful drugs to users were crack cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine (scores 37, 34, and 32, respectively), whereas alcohol, heroin, and crack cocaine were the most harmful to others (46, 21, and 17, respectively). Cannabis (aka marijuana) had an overall harm score of 20, putting it in eighth place behind amphetamine (aka speed) and before GHB (aka liquid ecstasy).

2. The infamous flashbacks

LSD flashbacks originate from the 1960s when the US government did a lot of fearmongering to get LSD made illegal. There is a disorder called HPPD or Hallucinogen Persisting Perception Disorder which usually happens to people who take a psychedelic drug for an extended period (month or years). People can sometimes experience some visual phenomena which they might find annoying or pleasant(a slight halo around objects, some tracing etc) but those should stop appearing after stopping the regular use psychedelics. Those „flashbacks“ are usually very rare and subtle.

3. LSD will drive you Insane

The Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim conducted a study on a data set from the US National Health Survey (2008-2011) which had 135 095 participants from which 19 299 were users of psychedelics.

Krebs and Johansen, the leading researchers, report that they found no evidence for a link between use of psychedelic drugs and psychological distress, depression, anxiety or suicidal thoughts, plans and attempts. In fact, on a number of factors, the study found a correlation between use of psychedelic drugs and decreased risk for mental health problems.

"Many people report deeply meaningful experiences and lasting beneficial effects from using psychedelics," says Krebs.
However, Johansen acknowledges that - given the design of the study - the researchers cannot "exclude the possibility that use of psychedelics might have a negative effect on mental health for some individuals or groups, perhaps counterbalanced at a population level by a positive effect on mental health in others."
Despite this, Johansen believes that the findings of the study are robust enough to draw the conclusion that prohibition of psychedelic drugs cannot be justified as a public health measure.

4. LSD has no medical benefits

From my own experience I can say that LSD made me happier in general. Those who have read my blog know I have problems with depression and anxiety. Usually I’m a lot better for a week after LSD usage.

„It’s all about love“ :D

Now let's talk about Microdosing!

The act of integrating sub-perceptual doses of psychedelics into your weekly routine for higher levels of creativity, more energy, increased focus, and improved relational skills.

One microdose is usually from 10 to 20 micrograms of LSD. It should be taken on regular schedule every 3-4 days. Because of the small dose, it's very unlikely a 'trip' will occur. Instead, users will feel a subtle internal shift in behaviour and thought.

Typical Day When Microdosing
09:00 - INCREASED CREATIVE OUTPUT
  • Brilliant outbursts in work and personal creative projects.
  • Super easy to get in the ZONE.
  • Work becomes fun!
16:00 - MORE PHYSICAL ENERGY
  • More stamina while exercising.
  • Clean energy buzz–like a psychedelic coffee.
  • Lift heavier weights
  • Improved coordination & higher level of focus.
19:00 - IMPROVED EMOTIONAL BALANCE
  • Create stronger bonds with new and existing friends
  • High levels of gratitude
  • Alleviates Depression
  • Gradual buildup of openness and awareness
21.00 - HEIGHTENED SPIRITUAL AWARENESS
  • Glimmers of insight into the unity of all life forms
  • Amazed by the wonders of life
  • More in line with spiritual intentions
Quote: "I would venture to say my wit, response time, and visual and mental acuity seem greater than normal while Microdosing."

What types of people are microdosing, and who do you think can benefit most from the practice?
" Microdosing seems to improve a vast range of conditions. I’ve explored microdosing as a safer way of doing psychedelics than the high doses that have been used before. Roughly 95 percent of the people who write me have considerable psychedelic experience. I’ll basically tell them, this isn’t going to harm you, let me know what happens.
The general response is that they feel better. There is an actual movement towards increased health or wellness. What that means, for instance, is that people who write in for anxiety seem to get help with their anxiety. People who use it for learning, improve their learning. One Ivy League student said he was using microdosing to get through the hardest math class in the undergraduate curriculum, and he did wonderfully in the class. Another young man used it for severe stuttering, and others have used it for social anxiety. One young woman, an art historian, even found that it regulated her periods and made them painless.
What it seems to do is rebalance people. "

Now that you know all this, how can you refuse a little acid? :)

Final words

LSD is psychedelic drug which has earned a lot of bad reputation for no reason. Since its inception there are no reported cases of fatalities directly tied to LSD. Usual doses range from 0.04 to 0.5 mg while a lethal dose is above 10mg. The positive effects of LSD far outweigh the negatives. LSD could be used widespread as treatment for mental health problems and help people in general, instead we are encouraged to consume alcohol which is by far the most harmful drug out there for both the user and others.

I hope in the coming years LSD gets more attention as an universally beneficial drug. Maybe even get legalized as cannabis was in parts of the US. That way our posts here on Steemit could also become much more interesting and happier. Sadly I haven't used LSD for microdosing, because it's hard to come by where I live, but the stories that float around the web, what I've heard from my friends and what experiences I get from doing acid(rarely when I get it), I can't deny it's benefits.

Stay strong, thanks for reading and don't forget to steemit!

Here's a good and tasty mushroom :D

Don't microdose! It is a waste of good material. Take a large dose and have a therapeutic session... These substances are NOT to be trifled with.

"Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is what all these teachers and philosophers who really counted, who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. This is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it's a feather bed." -Terence Mckenna

Thank you! I have been in search of this guide for a long time! Ill let you know how it goes, happy travels.

someone do acid with me.

Now after I read your article I have one more question: Can I get one of these little steemit tabs? :) LSD and mushrooms have so much health benefits and I think this is one of the reasons of prohibition. They want to sell their legal antidepressant drugs and an adapted common folk with no questions. Thanks for your article.

Solid information. Thanks brother.

Thanks. It's good to know someone else than bots appreciate the effort ;)

Judging by some comments not that many people who are reading such posts do LSD. I wonder whyXD Done it myself many times and what's important to remember that there is Micro-dozing. if you are new to psychedelic drugs then just start with a small doze(not the full tab if you do not know exactly how much it has) and preferably do it within a save environment with a friend who you trust, then I can personally assure you that chances of having a bad trip are close to the absolute 0.
