It's fine. I don't correct people. I let people believe whatever is convenient for them to believe until I decide to reveal additional details.
My reason for saying it's political is because I've seen more than a few posts by women on Steemit discredited for no reason other than gender. It's probably something to write a post about at some point in the future but I'm trying to avoid stoking political flames.
I avoid conflict for the most part unless I feel that I can really get something beneficial accomplished. Sexism exists, everywhere, here as well. It's not going to go away, and in fact I doubt that there exists any female whales. This is a problem and until there are, I feel that things will not change in any meaningful way for women.
