Is Steemit Becoming The New Google ?| Try This Yourself !

in #steemit7 years ago

THIS IS SO AWESOME !

I've started to notice this happening with most things I search up on google, with 'steemit' at the end of the thing I was searching.

I started to notice this was when I was just searching things up about steemit in general. Then for some odd reason when I was searching for something (That I can't remember for my life) on Google. Out of habit, I put 'steemit' at the end of what I was searching, then my brain had an idea, I just had to try this.

I started searching up random things with 'steemit' at the end of what I was searching. Now here is the cool part !

I found that, most of the time,(the times I tried it) I would get relevant results with links to a steemit posts !

Now these are only two examples of this, I'm sure this works with a lot of different things. Try and see what you can find !

Steemit has new content flowing in every second from thousands of different people writing about a thousand different topics and ideas, some the same thing but said and looked at in different ways.

So what I see happening is, steemit is an information hub, growing, bigger and bigger every single minute.

It seems steemit is becoming a search engine of some sort ! You can go as far as searching up something as random as 'How to wash your dog'!

I think people will eventually, randomly run into steemit posts in the future, If not they do already, maybe it will become a normal thing for people to learn things off of steemit. This is sort of inevitable at the rate of the information that is posted on steemit daily ! Yes, I know that there are a lot of other sites on the internet also uploading information everyday, but not as consistent as steemit with the amount of variety, as well as the fact that its all on one site.

I know that there are sites on the internet dedicated to hosting specific things, I just think it's really cool that all sorts of things can be found on a single site.

Thank you so much for checking out my post ! If you have any questions, I'll be more than happy to answer any you may have.

You know, if things keep up like this, instead of a search engine people will be able to use a Steem engine! :D

I really like the way you think ; )

steemit will replace them all! google, facebook, instagram, twitter, reddit and so and so!

Thank you very much !

This would possibly only affect the search suggestions shown to you. But it's good to see the vast amount of articles building within steemit! From washing dogs to building computers - that's an awesome takeaway!

This is great :) It's unfortunate, however, that authors writing informational articles don't get rewarded later on when people find their work on Google searches like this since the payout period is only 7 days (and used to be just 1). These kinds of articles might only be useful to a few people right after they are written, but potentially many people in the long term. This as opposed to an article on, say, the recent BTC price which pretty much is only useful right after it is written.

I once wrote an article about capturing the northern lights with a GoPro that took me a really long time to make but made almost nothing on here. I'm sure it could be useful to people later on, but I decided to stop making informational articles on here for that reason.

What do you think?

I see what you're saying ! It's unfortunate that there is such an over saturation, and that good, underrated content doesn't get the appreciation it deserves. It's true what you say , some articles do have longer term use than others.

Very interesting post makes a lot of sense.

Thank you ! : )
