I honestly don't talk about Steemit as much as I'd like, but I think that's about to change. I've referred a few people over. Some stick around, others not so much. If I ever get to working on my site again, I'd like to build a section dedicated to steemit. I'm going to start preaching the gospel of steemit soon though. I'm really becoming a strong believer in the platform now and everything that's being built around it.
There doesn't seem to be anything else quite like it and people are building all these cool apps around it. To be honest I can manage without the 'memes' :)
I love the way this is growing. I hear you about all the memes. I'd love for Steemit to have a preference tab to maybe mute Dmania or Zappl if Steemit users wanted to opt out of those types of posts or content. I'd probably use both apps more if I knew people could opt out if they want. Our feeds are noisy enough without adding another 20 zaps and 15 memes a day from each person we follow. Maybe this is something the developers will consider in the future. It's still a really cool addition to the platform though.
We need ways to filter the feed. I expect that will come in time
