I can accept that advertising may help cover costs for now. If people don't like them they have other ways to access Steem. I really hope we can see community features soon as that's going to make Steem more attractive.

Instead of making us pay by being spammed to and propagandized, why not just collect taxes from us? We already have to hold STEEM (and spend our RCs) in order to access the blockchain now. Might as well throw up even more barriers to entry so that the trickle of new members finally stops completely. Then we'll be out of Beta and ready to go to the moon!
