RE: How to stop Steemit Scammers and Thieves

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

Admittedly, I'm of the fix-it group.

One apple really can spoil the whole barrel. If we get enough scammers to power up, up, up on the unsuspecting Community's dime, then jump ship to grow his/her BTC bottom line, just doesn't bode well for the Steem journey overall.

Ignoring, looking the other way, is how corruption festers. One scammer gets away with it, only makes scammers 2 through 1K think/KNOW they can get off free, hiding behind the 'decentralization' industry.

There are times when silence is golden for the corrupt, too often at the expense of new-to-the-Community planktons/minnows.

While, I'm leery of too good to be true promises, many aren't.

They will help keep...

While this is very true; it's a perfect analogy of the government. Help is the key word. They can't be everything to everybody. They need all the help they can get, to have those in the community who see something off kilter, to say something.

Great post! Thanks for sharing!

Peace.

I agree that looking the other way is not the answer. Thats why we have @steemcleaners and @themarkymark and @berniesanders and others who are proactive in letting the scum know that what they are doing will not be tolerated here.. Thank you for your commment

Yes, kudos to those who do their part; but, occasionally scammers fly under their radar.

Many directly affected did nothing to sound the alarm. By the time the light shone on the problem, poof...gone.

It's a community effort. We all have to do our part. If something doesn't seem right, the majority will create a post sounding it out.

Thanks again for your post, which keeps the conversation going.

Hopefully, those who lost will use their experience as a teachable moment for new Steemians.

I do believe a temporary stop-gap measure needs to be put in place to deter the quick-draws in question.

Peace.
