Nice post, I believe paid upvotes can help a minnow boost their recognition on Steemit. If you can get your post into the trending area then more "real" people can see it.

On the other hand, when the value of SBD increases then paying for votes is a huge loss of money. For example, if you pay 1SBD for a $4 dollar upvote when SBD and USD are equal then you are quadrupling your money. However, if you pay 1SBD for a $4 upvote when SBD is $12 then you are losing money big time.

The trick is to try to get your posts seen by more people and get more legitamate followers. Unfortuantely, doing so can be very difficult.
