Hi,
Since the last hardfork, author rewards and curation rewards are paid in 24-26 hours, instead of 12 hours that was usual before the hardfork.
Personally, i am happy with this change. A 24 hours windows:
- Gives the author the possibility of receiving more votes
- Increase the amount of the first author payout
- Increase the amount of the first curator payout.
- If the curator payout is higher, more little voters will be rewarded when it pass the 0.001 STEEM POWER limit.
Anybody knows where this change has been announced? Is it temporal? What do you think about it? Please, leave your comments below.
It happened with the hardfork yesterday, I don't think it was really announced anywhere though.
From what I gather, there was a lot of unintended side effects from the swap to 12 hours (when it happened uh, two weeks ago?). Nothing major, but generally it was perceived as a bad change.
The reason they went to 12 hours was to make the homepage feel less "stale". They decided that this wasn't the best fix for the stale problem, so they reverted it back.
