You should be able to create great content and have your audience find you. In the same way that Youtube got video producers out of the way between a creator and their audience, Steemit needs to get Whales out of the way so creators can connect directly with their audience.
Essentially, even if all the Whales were to hate a post, it should still have the ability to be successful based on a rabid audience of fans. That is not the case today, the Whales and Dolphins are still tastemakers vs activating the long-tail.
I think you should check out @minnowsupport because they are trying to band the minnows together so that their content is able to be seen! I'm new on here and I don't have any whales around that I'm aware of... just a great group of minnows who all try to support one another! If you need help getting started, let me know :)
