Witness voting is still subject to steem power. If all us minnows vote against a witness it only takes one whale to screw us over.
Fear not. Steem will not change, things will continue as normal until the dev's really screw us over in the next hardfork,

Even minnow/fish-sized account votes add up and can make a difference. The top 19 voted witnesses are the full-time block producers. The threshold between the 19th and 20th place is sometimes very thin. I'm proud to have a lot of smaller voters approving me and their votes do add up to something significant.
tell that to all the folks who spent days, months of their lives to steemit only to be screwed over by the whales favoutism. this place is right where they wanted it to be, Your witness vote is moot unless u want what they want.
I changed my witness votes and yet it made no difference.
1000 people can vote for a post and it fails cause some whale will come along and override it. you Win dude, u won. please dont rub it in..There is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much proof here proving it than just a comment or post. I am shit to whales and guilds. but i am still here fighting. You chased many great people away to support a select few.

Witness votes are still stake based, and like in a republic government, your preferred representative doesn't always make it in when you vote for them. Post or comment voting is another issue, and I didn't downvote any of your posts or comments.
I hope that doesn't happen, I will have to be wary who I vote for, maybe we should sell our votes to the highest bidder lol
