If anyone follows the cryptomarket and the altcoins that come out daily, then you all must know about Basic Attention Token (BAT) which has been created as a cryptocurrency which is suppose to be used for the Brave web browser.
The Brave browser is one of the, if not most secure web browser on the internet today. The browser comes with built in ad blockers that are far better than the ad blocker extension most people download on chrome or firefox. For example if you were to go on Forbes website, you will get a pop up message saying to turn of your ad blocker to view the content of their site.
Or if you watch a lot a lot YouTube or videos on Facebook you may have noticed that not only are there ads before the video plays, but now there are ads (sometimes multiple ones) in the middle of the video. This makes it even more annoying especially if the video is less than 5 minutes long.
Finally the worst experience with ads is when you are using your mobile phone to view a site and then a pop up ad appears saying your phone is infected, or you won $10,000 or even worse a pop up ad so big that you can't even close it because the boundary of the ad is bigger than your phone's screen.
Well using the Brave web browser all those annoying advertisements are blocked and will not bother you again. This results in web pages loading a lot faster and scrolling through the page there is no choppy lag because of 5+ advertisement gifs running on the screen. Or when watching a YouTube video or Facebook video you don't have to sit through a commercial midway through a 1 minute video. Though I doubt many of your do because you just close the video at that point and surf to another channel or site. The biggest benefit is if you have this on your phone, it ends up saving you a boat load of data on your phone plan which means saving MONEY because it was not wasted on freaking ADVERTISEMENTS!
With the internet and media evolving by the day, the last few years we have seen an influx of advertisements on just about any webpage we go to. It is literally overkill to the point were most of us end up tuning out the ads and don't even listen or watch them. Even if the add may have been an important psa.
You download the Brave browser from their site here. I was surprised to see how well it worked it on my phone and computer. Their development team is probably one of the best teams in the software industry.
However the CEO is Brendan Eich who co-founded Firefox and created JavaScript. You might me wondering why I said it in the tone I said it in, if you do not not know much about the CEO. Here is why, in 2008 he donated $1000 to support Proposition 8 in California, which was the bill that banned gay marriage in the state. Considering he resides in San Francisco one of the if not THE most liberal cities in America. This was a very bad look for him and hurt is career to the point that within a 2 week span he was promoted to CEO of Firefox and resigned from the position and left the company int 2014.
Now with the the launch of Brave we will we see Brendan's past catch back up with him? Or does the company have a chance to succeed with him or a better chance if he were to resign as CEO as well.
Overall I do not agree with what the CEO did or his beliefs, but I am realist here and the internet now days has a lot of viruses and spyware out there that track our every single movement. You know there are marketing companies that online retailers hire where they have a pixel on their page set to track you the second you visit that site. So even if you leave they are collecting data on you and use that data to sell it to other companies to market to you. These companies on the net are exploiting us and profiting of us at the end of the day. That is why you will go on Facebook and see a bunch of adds of something similar to what you were looking at earlier that day or week.
makes me sick!
i'm using this browser right now and i can certainly tell the difference, especially when i comes to YT and FB!! This Brennan guy is OK by me! Even if he's no a big fan of the "gays". ;)
Yeah man it's a great browser IMO because viruses don't discriminate against anyone. Do you have he mobile app as well? Cause it's the best to use on mobile. No click bate where it's filed with ads and pop ups to where you can't even read the article l. I mentioned the browser on another site and people were so against it because of the CEO it was pretty crazy
Boy i could only imagine. I don't use a smartphone anymore. But if I ever did go back, I would certainly put Brave on it!!
