Christmas is a season of great joy, a time to experience the wonder of love. Christmas is a time to cherish those who bring good tidings and blessings to our lives, a time for giving and sharing, a time of loving and forgiving. Christmas is a time to touch every heart with love and care, a time where we conspire with the miracle of Christ's birth to gladden the hearts of all those around us.
As I join you, your family and millions of Christians around the world to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, may the glorious message of love fill your hearts with peace and lasting happiness; and may the salvation that follows His birth overwhelm you in all your pursuits with abundant grace and divine favour.
In the spirit of the yuletide, let us endeavour to spread the warmth and love of the Christmas season to all those around us, especially the needy and less privileged amongst us remembering that He, whose birth we celebrate today commanded us to always show love to them.
While we celebrate the miracle of Christmas and count the days until the start of a new year, it is my earnest prayer that the pleasures and treasures of Christmas bring forth a fitting ending to a rather eventful 2017 as we look forward to the herald of a new year with fresh hopes of a bright beginning for a better tomorrow and a greater Nigeria.
