Ok I will put some cash in here, I tried coinbase, and made £1000 in a week while I was on holiday, I digress.
I am looking for, the least expensive way to invest here, @ned wake up. I do not want to have to pay Bittrex this, then coinbase that and end up with less here, than I started off with, end of story, just make it easier for us old farts to invest, as we do not like fees every step of the way.
Yes we have all seen how the new normal is telling everyone they are on holiday on Facebook, and the new normal of listening devices like Alexa in peoples living rooms, hows about be what you set out to do, break that monopoly, make the change, and make it via a built in exchange, where old farts like me can buy in, directly without jumping through exchange hoops?
I care not about SMT'S and the endless promises of them, it makes as much sense as dangling a fish in front of hungry people, I care more about easy investment, so if you want me and my pension fund here, and other peoples, make it easier for us to invest, it is your site, and your choice.
Prove me wrong Ned, prove to me you can be innovative by moving away from BTC exchanges, and make direct investment possible here, or you may become the dinosaur of the blockchain, like BTC will be (yes I do think both facts are correct, time will tell)

If you're looking to get from FIAT -> STEEM, that's always a challenge and right now you're just going to have to use coinbase, gemini, etc. to get some BTC to exchange for Steem. Unfortunately, I doubt this is something Steemit, inc. wants to, or will solve.
One thing I will say, if you're new, keep good track of all of your transactions. It'll make taxes much easier to figure out.

If you can use local bitcoins.com you can create a blocktrades address that puts steem or sbd in your wallet.
I dont know if there is somebody near you, or not, but he sends btc to the address and bt makes the exchange for you.

One thing you might want to look at as an experiment, is that steemmonsters takes credit card orders for their cards. There are a lot of people that trade the cards, Some cards can be quite expensive as I understand it. But there is the possibility that you would get no valuable cards to convert to steem through a sale or a trade. I have actually been thinking of trying this route myself, because I know virtually nothing about crypto investing, and withdrawal, but when i saw that on steemmonsters I thought well I could kind of use it like I would a trip to vegas and slot machines. Buy 200 dollars worth of cards and then see if I got lucky with some gold cards.
That is like doing the lottery bro, so nope, not for me.
I just want an easy way to put money in here, with no loss on the way, so I can then upvote and support people like yourself, is it so much to ask for Ned?.
If steemmonsters people can do it then there really is no reason steem could not do it also, and yeah, it would be like a lottery or playing slots in vegas, going the monster route.

Hope all is well my friend. The problems that are causing this is fear of the government. They insist on picking winners and losers so their constituents (those with fat ass wallets) can be the monopoly. Fear of being charged with money laundering, not complying with kyc aml laws keeps the founders of these chains from wanting to add that to their list of things being scrutinized.
Agreed, and all good here now, I had to go away for a few days on my own, to sort out the messed up thoughts my family (mother) left me with, all clear now though bro.
